I’ve been a complete pick me in the past with dating, but at this point I’m happy being single, but I wanted to test out FDS strategy. Since I’ve deleted all the apps on my phone I opened it on my computer, swiped for awhile until I had several matches, and vetted the guys who didn’t meet intitial FDS standards.

Only one guy has passed to this point, he initiated on OLD, texted more than I did, and showed a lot of interest and also seemed nervous. On the second day(Yesterday) I didn’t see his message until a lot later, and he’d apologized if his “how was your day” message seemed generic and said he genuinely wanted to know how my day was going. We chatted a bit more, we were talking about a mountain I’d hiked earlier than that day and he told me about wild blueberries he’d found on the mountain but he couldn’t send pictures with the app. We talked a bit more then he dropped his phone number, saying not to feel pressured to text him but if I wanted. I texted a hey and he excitedly sent me the blueberry pictures, I told him I appreciated them. It was getting late so we said good night, and he said I can totally text him anytime.

He’s come off as sweet but shy, and I’m wondering if I should send a text or wait for him to text me, since it seems like he’s expecting me to text him. I don’t know how to show enough interest to encourage him and still let him pursue.

I’m not too worried since my life is good, I have friends and passions I’m working on and I don’t mind being alone, but I’m trying to be open to whatever comes my way. I haven’t found too much on specific texting etiquette
