It still astounds me how high the expectations for mothers is, compared to men's expectations as fathers.

Once we become mothers we are expected to either be a slave to our husband or be a slave to capitalism. Cooking, cleaning, pleasuring our hubby in bed, taking care of children, all while working a 9 to 5 job. You would think that all that hard work would be appreciated but it isn't.

If you dare conserve time for yourself you're deemed as selfish, irresponsible and a horrible mother while the father gets to drink beer and play video games on the couch. As a wife and mother it's your job to keep everyone joyful, it's your fault if your husband cheats on you maybe you should've set time aside for you guys.

"Doesn't matter what he did he's still the child's father, he deserves to see them" - women are guilted to let their toxic abusive baby daddies see their children. Can't ask a deadbeat for child support even though you're financially struggling because you're forcing them into parenthood. Where's the same energy for fathers?

Single and teen moms are villainized by society and single dads get love and reassurance. Oh you're a single mom? No one wants to date damaged goods, your child will turn out horrible from his lack of a father figure, you should have chosen a better man, and so on. So you're a single father? Praised for staying, guaranteed that people will date you women love children, constantly victimized and etc. I bet you rarely hear of the word teen dad, yeah me too let that sink in for a bit.
