I literally did all the "simping" behaviour for my narc ex: I complimented him a lot, I bought him cute little gifts and even once I surprised him with flowers at his office and of course treated with hours of sex weekly. Organised his birthday dinner in a fancy place, saved up for months to buy him an expensive watch and because I do creative writing, I wrote him a cute little message in his card.

And what did I get? He hardly planned dates, hardly complimented me. He only started developing feelings for after 6 months. Organised my birthday last minute, shitty present, no card. Dumped me on the phone, never got my stuff back and he made a fake profile of me on a dating app, leaking my number and social media. And note: I'm not mad about my stuff (its something I can replace) but its the fact I asked him nicely after the breakup and he still hasnt complied.
