Even if you weren’t one of the men that are like that, you’ve just become one of those men that ARE like that because you came complaining to a woman instead of complaining to your own peers that are making you look bad to begin with. So yes you are like that.

Men who say that use it as a tool to gaslight a women’s experience or mistreatment rather than show empathy or compassion. Instead they choose redirect it to where they don’t look like the villain. Notice the difference of responses when a man talks about a woman doing something wrong to them compared to the other way around. Why cant they just be a leader and point the men that “are like that” in the right direction. All saying that does is make men continue to feel like they don’t have to be accountable for their actions.Like are men even capable of showing empathy?! smh

Yeah, I KNOW that "not all men" are like that. I've been blessed with many good men in my family and social circle. The scrotes I encountered along the way didn't stick around for long.

But here we are. Because there are scrotes in abundance out there. The examples we see from dating apps, from the manosphere subs and abundant personal experience of many ladies demonstrate that.

Yes, we realize that some women make bad decisions or are just bad people. Some men are truly decent and kind and a bad woman screws them over. We don't encourage women to do that to any man. Why would we want to be a female version of a scrote? What does that accomplish?

We encourage women to be financially independent. (This seems to be such a sticking point with some men, so I'm bringing it up yet again.) "Financially independent" means she's not mooching off of men because she hasn't got herself together financially. It also means that she's not so dependent that she's unable to leave if things get bad. THAT'S the big thing. Being financially independent means that women can be more selective and have higher expectations. Because why not? She doesn't need a man in order to survive financially. (I swear, this seems to be a thorn in the side of some men—that women can be more selective these days.)

No women here want to "use" men for money. We do, however, want to 'vet' them so we know that they're as serious about a relationship as we are. We want to be financially independent but we don't want to be supporting a man who ends up being financially dependent on us.

For the same reason counter-protesters started saying, "All lives matter". These men associate whatever you are saying about "bad" men on themselves, and that gives you a pretty clear picture that on some level he's aware of just how shitty he is and doesn't like being called out on it. So to get away from those uncomfortable feelings, he has to chime in with "Not all men" just to assuage his own guilty feelings.
