Disclaimer this is a long story but at the time I was 17 going on 18 and was in this hispanic man’s world history class. Mind you this teacher would do “storytimes” on all the women he dated, smashed, and essentially treated like crap. I saw no big deal about it because its his life personal stories whatever. The first sign of him sexualizing me was this one day in class he was standing in front of the whole class and teaching or whatever no biggy. That was when i pulled out my lip gloss to apply it, i wasn’t even remotely trying to be sexual at all, and for some reason he was just staring at me all weird. I shook it off and thought maybe he was just zoned out or something. Next time he had a song playing in class pretty girl rock by keri hilson so i started singing along. He took this opportunity to then say “My ex liked this song” i was silent because honestly i didn’t care. He then proceeded to say “She was black”, mind you I’m black so just out of curiosity i asked “How long did that last” kind of in a sarcastic tone. He then says “A couple weeks, but we messed around before that”. Like lmaooo what teacher tells a student that TF? So continuing on one day completely out the blue he says to me,”You know I’m not that much older than you” this man was 28 YEARS OLD and i was 17 lmaooo he said this in front the whole class and nobody said anything i was sooo shocked i couldn’t say anything either. Couple months later this girl in my class took it upon herself to say out loud “I saw you throwing that ass on snapchat” and i said “No i wasn’t” i wasnt really i did a little classy twerk but only because it was my birthday lol. I was really embarrassed because i didnt want my teacher thinking that smh that girl was messy! Couple months later he says out the blue “You know i dated a stripper before” just out of no where!! basically implying he thought i was a stripper i think mainly because im black that he thought i would do something like that no judgement just not for me. I’m also in a dance class & he knew this bc ive asked to go drop some stuff off. So one day i was in dance and the windows were open or whatever so my dance teacher asked us to close them. I looked out and saw him walking past kind of looking in the dance room like he was trying to see “something” my intuition told me something was off about that but being young and naive i ignored it. On like the couple last days of school since i was a senior he took it upon himself to pull out his phone on snapchat and say “its just about that time”, like not even asking if i wanted to add him as if he was entitled to have my snapchat just because he taught me some shit. So i said “no thanks I’m good”, and he then proceeded to explain how he wanted to see my adventures and family blah blah sounded like complete bullshit. I tried to change the subject but he would just redirect it in a sense coercing me to add him. Thank god i didnt, im 19 now just reflecting on this situation and i was so scared to say anything but now i have so much less trust for men . I’m glad I finally have the courage to speak about this.
