I read this tweet as her seeing she got in a shitty relationship and mindset of putting maximum effort for someone who doesn’t deserve it. It would be humiliating to bend over backwards for someone who doesn’t give a fuck and she’s vowing not to be that girl again
So it’s more about gaining awareness and learning from mistakes and being determined not to go there again so good for her so it’s not just “pick me” mantras

I feel that. I’ve been a pure pick me since the guy I dated earlier this fall broke up with me: still spending time, hanging out, going out, snuggling. All for what? Leaving him in 2019 where he belongs
