So I've met this guy through friends, I don't know him very well yet, but so far no red flags. He asked me to send him a poem I mentioned I wrote recently, that's how we got talking over messenger, I can't see him until later next week because of my university deadlines, but I am really interested in him. He's autistic and has ADHD (so do I) so he is not the kind of person to have some ulterior motive or be manipulative, he's very open. I've spent a lot of time around his friends (some of whom have known him for 14 years) and everyone has had nothing but lovely things to say about him. He has also gender transitioned (female to male) so I believe he has some understanding of the difficulties we deal with as women.

He writes poetry, does a lot of creative writing, just finished a masters degree, and he published a book of his poems two years ago. I bought and read it, it's really beautiful and emotional, from having the same neurological conditions I related to his poetry so much, I wanted to strike up a conversation with him over messenger about it but I feel like maybe I should leave it until he messages me something or that I should talk to him about it in person.

I'm not assuming he's a HVM, I will continue to keep my guard up and won't be afraid of walking away, i've read the handbook. Is it LVW behaviour to strike up a conversation like that? Or should I wait for him to message me about anything? I don't know if I seem too interested by initiating a conversation.
