Yea it was about Carol baskins, but that's a false equivalence.

There are two posts about Carol baskins killing her husband, one of them framing her as sure shot full on domestic abuser and killer, and one being a video about her (again, framing it as her definitely killing her husband), On this subreddit. The first post was calling out a post on another mainly women's subreddit and the video was also about the same thing. So yea it is fair assessment that at the very least no one cares about Joe exotic here in this sub (at the very least). But some people do care about Carol basking FO SHO killing her husband.

Also this post is "a question for this subreddit" that means I am literally asking for your views.

There is not one post about Joe exotic, or actually there is one. This post.

And yeah, even I dislike Carol baskins, she's a fucking horrible person, like all round just an animal abuser, and sure a murderer too, cool whatever.

But people mainly don't like Carol baskins, especially in this subreddit cause she killed her husband(let's for the sake of argument take that as true), cause that's the only critique which exists in here. But now it comes up as her being an animal abuser, why? Cause it's convinent to bring up? And yes, feminists dislike Carol baskins, cause she is a horrible person, not specially cause she killed her husband. And why does it matter that you have been on some heavily feminist subreddits? When it is clear that the majority of the conversation around Carol baskins just seems to devolve around her not being an animal abuser, but a murderer instead. There are atleast two other murders in the documentary, Joe exotic is one of them.

Disliking a person for their horrible actions on animals regardless of gender is what leftists do. Disliking a woman specially cause she is specifically a woman, and then labelling her as a sure murderer, is what lite misogynists do, even woman who do that are misogynistic in that framework. It's the framework of gender which matters here, not the actions, cause the actions are horrible and easily condemnable anyway, it's how the argument for Carol baskins is framed is what I am talking about. (And sure, there isn't a "direct" attack on Carol baskins for being a woman, that I agree, but the framework makes it pretty clear subtly anyway, and everyone hates Carol way more than Joe, infact there is love for Joe out there)

There are also leftist critique of how disproportionately the justice system doesn't give justice to women specifically, in cases of rape too, or murder, especially if they are black women. But that's not even what I am talking about, and don't change the topic. I am talking about how in this particular subreddit people jump at the thought of a woman killing someone and using it as a critique of feminism, but barely look inward as a critique of patriarchy. Cause patriarchy is the dominant system, and sure there exists pockets of societal discrimination and they can be traced back to patriarchy too, mainly the image of a men being strong, but that critique doesn't seem to exist here.

Hell, the description of this subreddit specially says it is a "includes critique of feminism" very specifically, while that sure let's talk about it, very fun, but what does it do? Leave patriarchy as something which shouldn't be discussed, cause men become oppressed in that framework, so patriarchy as a system becomes invalid, therefore not up for critique.

And so what? This is a subreddit about men's issues, not women's issues.

I am not changing the topic and don't be so rude. You asked why we are discussing Carol Baskins instead of Joe Exotic, and I answered. Because there is a perception, backed by research, that women tend to get lighter sentences for the same crimes.

Yes, that doesn't mean every post is a criticism of feminism.

There is no rule here that the patriarchy cannot be discussed. It's simply less likely that the people here believe the patriarchy is the source of what's hurting them.
