I sometimes report rules i see that are sexist. Usually these are sexist towards men. The question I ask myself is: - am i baselessly complaining about women’s spaces, about women having their sphere, or am i really complaining about the fear of, disgust toward, or deprivation of men? That should be part of the code as far as I can tell.

For example. I am not going to complain about a women’s weightlifting or book meet up. Or a woman who wants a female roommate to split an apartment with. Women’ s or men’s groups are fine in principle.

But I will report any house sitting, air bnb, house rental, etc etc. that is women only.

I encourage everyone to do this, as people should be judged by their word, their record, and their references, not by their gender. Housing is also harder for men to find.

There are some tough calls though. What about a cafe or a bar with a women’s only night? They almost never have a corollary mens night. And yet they also don’t make it a dedicated women’s only space seven days a week, which means they turn away men on women’s night-that is unfair.

What are your thoughts? I had just said I don’t mind women’s only groups, but it gets a bit muddy I admit. I mean, what if the only business start up group or free self defense training group in your area is the women’s one?
