From what I see, but I'm not a native speaker, sexual violence by sex is only small part (white people are more victims than other ethnicities, disabled and LGBTQ people are more victims than heterosexual people).

And of those victims, men are the most victimized, and mostly by staff, while women are a bit less victimized overall, but mostly by other detainees.

Though it raises an interesting question. I made a post a few days (weeks?) back on how some anectodal stories (very anecdotal) showed examples of women and young girls catcalling and harassing boys and men when put in isolation from men - and from the attention of those men.

Coupled with these statistics, it could show that some women, when isolated from normal, gendered sexual attention (so the basic state of sexual attention for men), tend to revert to aggressive, even violent behaviors, to an even higher degree that men do. It's only a guess though, and it would need some pretty deep studies.

But yeah, it kinda goes contrary to the whole "women are safe to be around, and men are rapists by nature" narrative.

And it could also mean, that catcalling and harrassment are not solely due to power dynamics, but that sexual isolation could be a factor to that. So if men received more sexual attention as a sex they'd be less inclined toward aggressive behavior. Not excusing those behaviord of course, they are horrendous.
