FOM = female on male | MOF = male on female

I was just thinking about how it's terrible that FOM violence (which is absolutely as common as MOF violence and just as harmful and damaging) is constantly downplayed and marginalized, and even outright ignored. We see stupid, misandrist campaigns like #CallHimOut but never a #CallHerOut for violent women and are told about a supposed epidemic of MOF violence. But I've also been thinking that with the statistics not taking into account that FOM violence is reported much lower due to the lack of abuse shelters and clinics for male victims, and many male victims also afraid to come forward out of fear of being disbelieved and their female abuser being believed over them, that another reason MOF violence tends to seem so disproportionately high is because FOM violence is still counted as being violence against women? I know the VAWA also supposedly encompasses men but the name of the act itself really needs to be changed because violence against men is equally as harmful and bad, and under this is still gets treated as an issue that affects women more. It happens much more frequently than is believed and reported. Violence against both needs to be counted individually and not just also under the guise of VAW. We'd see that FOM violence is much higher and in comparable numbers to MOF incidents, and that women can absolutely be just as violent and abusive. But as usual, feminists always want to only focus on MOF and sweep aside FOM, acting as if it isn't a problem. And we wonder why there's a serious male mental health crisis with so many men not having help and resources, having their traumatic experiences marginalized and still being told they need to do better and not also abusive women equally.

Edit - forgot to also add that are self-defense incidents also counted? Collective society still frowns on men who attack women in self-defense even if it's justified and the woman was the aggressor. I wouldn't be surprised if instances of self-defense still get counted as MOF violence.
