Well you know we are not responsible for their feelings. I understand taking reasonable measures to insure their safety, but beyond that we can't be held responsible for what is in their heads if we haven't done anything. They are trying to accuse us of precrime like in Minority Report.

I don't personally know even one woman who was beaten, mugged, or raped by strangers. I do know however guys who got some of that treatment, one even ended in the hospital over some earphones. So yeah I am afraid at night, at least when I walk around bad parts of town, just like everyone should be.

I am a woman.

I have been walking around alone at night since I was a teen.

Sometimes I even wear headphones.

Sometimes men pass by me when I'm wearing headphones.

This fear is very real to these women because they've been told to be fearful. I totally understand that if I'm constantly told that if I go out at night then I'm in danger...then I will believe that.

However, because I was homeless as a teen, I was never fed these lies from when I was young like other women have. I saw for myself that men were usually the ones to help me and not expect anything in return.

Yes, there were some overly friendly men, occasionally creepy men that I had to talk my way away from, but on the whole I was never fearful being on the streets all night.

The lie is pushed that women should be afraid because it's not safe for them, and they believe it. I don't blame them for soaking that up.

I'm extremely vigilant when out at night, muggers don't really care who you are - they go for people alone and not paying attention

Actually men are FAR more likely to be attacked in the streets night or day. When you say this, their usually response is "yeah but that's men doing the attacking" like.....so? They are so determined to put the world into collectivist boxes when the vast majority of men by far would never attack someone in the streets.

No I can't. Wanna know what I am doing at night? Fuckin' SLEEPING. Because I work all day. I go to bed at 10 so I can be up at 7 and work, like a sensible person. What are these women doing?

It doesn't stop lower income women from working at night. One of my Mom's friends worked as a night manager at a hotel. It was good work. That's a sort of dangerous job, because she was in a bad neighborhood and was calling the cops at least once a week.

I think it's the highly privileged, irrational, young women in particular who complain about this stuff. Yeah, going to bars and clubs at night is dangerous for attractive, desirable women. A mildly unattractive or homeless man might talk to her. Sorry, I'm not buying it.

Most rapes and sexual assaults are things like date rape or are done by family members or close family friends. It's not some dude punching you in the back of the head than ravishing you behind the bushes.

The only person ultimately responsible for someone's safety is themselves. I used to walk my dog in the early hours because of working shifts. The number of clueless young women walking home alone and drunk is frightening. I'd never let one of my mates walk home alone whilst drunk. Then again, women have the right to do so, and if they do find themselves in a situation where their life is threatened, they can be reassured that its because of misogyny

Lmao - they complain about vulnerable alone at night and men aren’t, but then turn around and say, “we are equal to men”, “we don’t need a man”, “we can lead better than men”. Can’t be both! I know several females I’d hate to try to fight, my martial arts instructor being one! She still lives by a household lead by a man though and she has never lost her pride as a woman. It’s the women that want to play helpless and defenseless that are the ones we have to worry about (yes there are sissy guys in that category too!).

That woman can be scared to go out self and it being taken seriously in it self shows how much more their issues are taken seriously. There are no abuse shelters for men.

Cause a man can say he does not feel safe and no one gives a fuck. Sexual or physical assault on a man is not taken seriously

But for every fear or bad thing or bad choice they made there is always something to fall back on for them.

1 guy knocks up 19 women the guy is the bad guy. Wail like 80% of guys can't do that. And the women allowed that to happen and they carry the child. So it's only in their best interests to be more responsible but no let's pull away every responsibility from them society says.

Men take a lot more risks then women cause they grow up knowing the world does not give a fuck about you. So you make it or bust. You dont make it. The world sees you as worthless.

Women are seen with value in the world without having the proof it.

Men have to prove there value day after day after day. Or we seen as useless. So we cant be afraid of the dark. Or to go out at night or at scary spots. Cause we are more afraid to not be seen. Not be respected.

Cause we men are competitive. Cause thats how we proof or value. At school. To our friends. To the people we look up to. And at our jobs.

Example. Women can work hard sure. Just like men. But lets say.

Lissa sold 4 cars, Mike sold 4 cars.

But Dylan sold 12 cars.

It was a good day. Everyone says its a good day. But even do it was a good day. Mike at home is eating him self up and is pushing him self to want to do better to find out how that Dylan sold 12 cars. And the rest only 4.

That drive that risk taking that. Want need to want to be seen. Be valued. Be respected. And to be loved. That does not come from who we are but what we can do or bring. Is that drives us.

To try for the best score at exams. To try and beat our friends in games. To try and be able to lift more than a gym body that has been doing it longer. The stupid at times. But the drive to be the best we can even if it seems impossible. Cause to be seen anywhere we have to earn our spot

And women will never understand that fact. That that fear is so much bigger in us than most the other dangers at night.

And why most men hate combative women so damn much

So I agree, on the same hand. Both myself and my wife are less comfortable when she's out at night by herself than when I am. Obviously not 100% safe but more experienced and likelihood in defense in those situations than she is

As a tall man I'm very aware that men are taller than women and thus have a faster walking pace, so I totally get how having big men slowly passing them from behind on quiet badly lit back roads can be unnerving. I've also had paranoid men buying drugs walking ahead on me along the same street ask me why I'm following them.

I'm not at fault for walking along the same street as them although I might cross the road for a nervous woman I'm behind. While my Yorkshire English town doesn't have a mugger problem anyone targeting a woman on that street faces the risk of having his hands broken by the Muslims that live nearby. I don't know any woman who has got attacked, grooming and hidden prostitution is more of an issue both of which is partly because of feminism and the break down of stable families and feminist sexual morals and lack of responsibility both with the victims and the woke / useless authorities.

I have some theories regarding this. Apart from this fear being more primal and evolutionary in nature (from like prehistoric times), men lack this fear, not only due to them being more likely to fend it off but also there's a more sad reason behind this in my opinion (you might call me some pessimistic or some edgelord for this). The other reason I am talking about is that many men especially nowadays are in passive suicidal state, where they don't want to commit suicide directly or neither are they suicidal, but feel so depressed, empty, lonely and hopeless from within that they wouldn't mind getting killed/murdered in a dangerous scenario (like for example, walking at night in this case)

Fundamentally women's fear of being out alone at night is an innate survival trait.

All of our innate preferences, behaviors, etc. feel absolutely true for us. We don't analyze why we feel the way we do. My favorite examples are drinking water (a gender neutral preference) and age (a male specific preference).

We all don't like drinking water that's body temperature, we want it to be ice cold. There's no logical reason for us to have this preference. But biologically you should be able to figure out why it's part of our survival instincts; back when we were cave men warm water would be more likely to have microorganisms in it that could make us sick.

For age, men find young women more sexually attractive than older women. We don't think about why they are, they just are. Again, biologically there are good reasons evolution made us that way; young women were more likely to survive the perils of birthing back when we were cave men, also more likely to live long enough to raise the kids. Evolution favors traits, preferences, etc. that increase the probability of the genes being passed on.

I wrote something in another thread about how women are less likely to be aware of their surroundings. Men could survive being out and about at night when we were cavemen, if women did that they would be more likely to be eaten by predators.

Women feel that being fearful when out and alone is absolutely true since it's an innate fear. But you're definitely right when you said "misandrists always want to turn everything into a man vs. woman issue and a victimhood contest."

Men are more likely to get attacked. We shouldn’t dismiss that and pretend it’s only women who are in danger. While women have a disadvantage in an attack and are more physically vulnerable, it’s not like physical size matters much if someone stabs you or if you’re mugged and beaten by a group.

The overwhelming majority of perpetrators are men. While women are absolutely capable of being predatory and harmful, it’s rarely women stalking the streets at night looking for their next victim. Let’s not pretend the gender ratio is anywhere near balanced on that.

There may be some brainwashing, but there's biology at play here too. Women are the vulnerable sex and have a heightened sense of neuroticism and sense for self-perseverance. They are the ones who carry babies to birth and more often than not raising them. There was a study showing that when a mother dies, the children also had a greater chance of dying.

So even though men and women may be facing similar levels of danger, women in general, will always perceive the threats as higher than most men and will be more neurotic thinking about a night encounter. While men are more risk prone and are probably less neurotic in part due to being more confident in their physical abilities. Or perhaps men think of violence at night as more of a challenge that might be able to overcome rather than something to despair over. That's not to say the prudent crowd of both sexes don't just avoid areas they perceive as dangerous especially at night.

Also I'd say women vastly speak out and express their concerns more so than men. Men have an issue with under-complaining; even though they are more likely to murdered, they are relatively quiet about it in comparison. There doesn't seem to be any sexism at play here, just biological truths and gendered differences in how we respond to threats in society. We are just wired differently.

I live in a very dangerous country and I'm a big dude with manly features and I'm worried about going out at night and the few times I do it's surprising to me the many women I see walking alone at night. They aren't scared or they don't care at all about the dangers.

I agree, of course women are at much more Risk of Sexual Violence, but no one can go out at night and be 100% safe.
