Thank you, in my opinion you are the only one who can answer this question because no one know your what is your job, skills etc etc ..

Most people think men don't have any problems, that's why they think "men's rights advocate" is a joke. so maybe you can show the prople you know the documentary Red Pill on men's issues. link here.

Somewhat of a copout, but it depends. There isn't one "right way" to advocate for men.

It depends on the type of person you are, and the position you are in. Some people are heavily into activism, and have concrete legal goals. If so and you have the capacity do so, consider finding a local men's group (such as National Coalition for Men) and joining them. I personally know I am not an activist type, and at the risk of sounding grandiose, I am much more interested in the philosophy and ideology surrounding gender which I try to share at least with this sub. I wish to create a more robust understand of gender relations past and present. Though the position I'm currently my activity is limited to challenging false narratives in my university classes (a very volitle place!). Other people here are much more interesting in research and statistics about men's issues, which is important as the objective rational needed for advocacy for men.

Perhaps the single most important thing is to speak up. When someone propagates false narratives, challenge them. Admittedly this can be difficult, especially without coming across as antagonistic, but is perhaps the most foundational thing needed. Writing a letter to your representative is as good a step as any.

This video from the Prim Reaper also may help, though it's from a more "pure" MRA posiption which you may or may not prefer.

I think a lot of it comes back to the core of who we are. Support men the same way you would women. If you'd support a girl you know for being strong, powerful and successful, do the same thing for a guy. If you'd support a girl who's going through a rough time with a relationship, do the same thing for a guy. How you react to people--what you recognize them for and support them for has the power to shape the world, use it well.

On specific issues, it depends on what issues you are talking about but if you want to help us change things overall, support men connecting with each other as groups of men. Stuff like male sports leagues, support groups, etc. Change historically has almost always started with unified groups, men aren't different.

Thanks a lot for your empathy and the time you have taken to research. I cant say Im an expert in any way, but if I had to come up with something:

Writing to your congressman sounds like a good idea, it certainly could not hurt. Might be wise to just adress a couple of spesific issues you care about.

If there is any organization locally for you you could support it if you have any money to spare.

But simply, just trying in your life to be fair, egalitarian and help where it is needed is the sort of stuff that, slowly, will help.

That said, your post does adress something this sub is not good at: what to do to help. Here it is usually just discussing information, not any kind of steps to do something. I think the latter would be nice to add to the wiki.

I think the #1 thing we can do right now is raise awareness. Most people haven't heard of men's issues at all, or if they have it is often a caricature meant to dismiss us. If you're a woman, then your voice may carry extra weight because many people assume that men advocating for men just don't understand women's issues. Speak up when you see hate and misinformation. Only when large swaths if society recognize an issue can we truly change it on a policy level.
