Thing is, you’ll always be detracting from female issues, because the mainstream narrative has genuinely convinced society that women are getting the short end of the stick in all areas, even those that are worse for men. For example, I like to read about crimes, mysteries and stuff, and was surprised yesterday when a woman created a post on a popular crime sub drawing attention to the fact that, despite men being the majority of victims of violent deaths, most true crime content is about female victims. It wasn’t really a critique or anything, she was just pointing our own bias (I mean, missing white woman syndrome is a named phenomenon for a reason). Yet, one of the top comments was saying that women are at a much greater risk of suffering violence than men, which is obviously not true. Also, look at the recent stir caused by Sarah Everard’s death in the UK and how society was genuinely convinced that women are at a much higher risk than man, even when statistics say otherwise. Look at how most countries protect its female citizens from genital mutilation, but still allow young male babies to get butchered. Yet, you’ll only hear conversations about female genital mutilation. My point isn’t oppression Olympics, but that we’re in the midst of a war on truth and common sense, where you’re considered privileged even when data shows you’re much more likely to get fucked in certain aspects. And when people automatically assume that all women are much worse off than men, even when that isn’t the case, how can you even start a conversation about male issues? It’s crazy.

The idea that a person expressing their experience is silencing another person expressing their’s is not just complete nonsense, it is projection because it’s an attempt to silence the former person and people with similar experiences. Who is really being silenced here, the person who receives sympathy after expressing themselves, or the person who gets attacked and accused, and vilified after expressing themselves?

I read that thread and I'm sure I missed some post but it sure seemed like almost ever post was a lesson on how to try to explain away your blatant and obvious bias towards women.
