It is leftist orthodoxy that one should punch up and not down, however one define who is up and down, but doesn't this mindset invalidate itself after the first implementation?

If you are an identity that is allowed to direct hatred, ridicule towards another identity without social repercussions, while the other identity group can't do the same to you... are you then not the privileged social group and therefore a legitimate target of punches?

If, for example, making fun at women is 'punching down' and therefore not allowed, but making fun of men is allowed and even encouraged because it is 'punching up' are women not a protected class above men? So the whole thing eats itself, no?

For this means men indeed should be allowed to punch up at the people above them.

Overmore if women were indeed men's equals shouldn't they be able to take the heat? Is this just another case of playing victim to gain special rights while claiming to be equal?
