Although also about stigma, If we are talking policy, the NYT article is from 2014, so it is a little old. I did a write-up in January about the current state of Paid Family Leave, proposed legislation, and an overview of where the Dem candidates stood at the time.

Nothing much new.

From. What I remember in France, at first, there was only paid maternity leave. But then, economists realized that with only women having that potential liability, it made them less attractive to hiring, and so, only after it was shown to negatively impacting women, did they start campaigning for paid paternity leave.

Right now, I am not too sure what's the exact state of each. I know both are a thing, but beyond that...

As I don't plan on having kids, I didn't investigate much.
