Just a vent post after I got absolutely dragged , then caught a 30 day mute in a FB group after objecting to a joke about an FoM domestic violence victim

Comments included "It's necessary to joke about men being advice abused because we're called hysterical and ignored when we are abused"

"Yeah it would be wrong if men and women were on the same power level"

"Yeah but society accepts and laughs at women who are domestic abuse victims"

"Women victims of DV are the butt of socially acceptable jokes"

I'm sorry, but not a single one of those comments are true in the Anglosphere at least.

Upon posting stats showing that a full 30% of reported DC victims are male, that there's zero shelters, we risk prosecution if we report, and are the butt of hundreds of jokes on current film and TV, and that sentences differ for us in that we're punished harder for the same crimes, I got screamed at for twisting words, gaslighting, mansplaininh.

Just, how do you even stand up to that level of deliberate ignorance?
