Should've kicked her out. I don't understand why men move out of their own house.

Because you look at things and think, "She and I bought that chair/table", and get angry as hell when you remember the fact that she betrayed you. You'd walk around with a thousand little reminders of that, every day. And that's before divorce, when you have to give her some of it.Better to move to a new place, make a new start, get new stuff (that she won't be able to get) and avoid the daily reminders.

Nah its cause the divorce courts are biased in womens favor.
Lots of men just move out because they know the courts would force them to do that anyway.

Something to think about for guys who want to cohabitate. Also, why is it always the men sleeping on the sofa.

It is typically a lot easier for the man to leave because we are efficient and have less shit. For example, when my ex wanted a divorce she moved out. She got her friends to help her and I did too. By the end of the weekend, my apartment was essentially empty while her new place was pretty much full. The only thing that was mine was the guest bed, the living room TV, and my gaming stuff, and guitars. The rest of the unnecessary bullshit in the house was hers.

$200? That's at least a year right there. Read how to fire your wife and get the divorce over as quick as possible.
If she's going to fight it...you're probably going to lose. Depending on your state (check out previous divorces and their payments etc) quit your job and get a job as a janitor or something. If anyone asks why, say you really enjoy the harmony of cleaning.

"quit your job and get a job as a janitor" - that might not help. Family courts are very gynocentric and will determine alimony based on your putative income. For example, if you quit your job as a lawyer to become a janitor, the courts will determine alimony based on your lawyers income because it's what you could potentially be earning, not what you are actually currently earning.
That's why marriage makes zero sense - all the laws on the books are designed to fuck men over.

How can this be legal? This is slavery!

Welcome… to the real world.
[–]A_Walt_Whitman1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well, marriage is essentially legalized theft and slavery sanctioned by the state to transfer income and resources from men to women.

But at least the man voluntarily enters into it and if the woman is any good she will serve him well for his efforts. But once divorce enters into picture then it is no longer voluntary and just pure slavery.

Yeah, I'd rather go to jail than pay my ex

Wish it were that easy. Not so much when you have kids. Good luck surviving like that with 2 kids. In my scenario I'm losing pretty much everything but my retirement and some tax free savings account money, but I still have to pay child support and have to have a place with at least 2 bedrooms. No way can I afford to buy. 2k a month gone just for rent and support. Doesn't count my life insurance, food, gas... Hope to feed them more than kd and then there is daycare, before and after care, their activities etc

Yeah tbh her family is rich anyways. May be one area u look to reduce costs. Hate to lose what input in already but will cost me a lot more yet. I always just assumed with inflation it would be minimal cost down the road.. I dunno. Always had my kids in mind really.. but tbh they'll be taken care of anyways

Looks like her work husband got a promotion. The takeaway here is that women in the workplace have higher chances of acting on their hypergamy.
