I think a lot of millenials are stupid, spoiled, and useless. There are a few of us who seem to have our shit together, but we're far and few between.

But, what do you expect from a generation raised by single mothers?

As it relates to MGTOW - Millennials are a generation raised by single mothers. It follows that they are far more accommodating towards women, which isn't bad except it's to a fault. Millennials give women the benefit of the doubt whether or not they deserve it. Millennials are generally less masculine due to growing up without fathers. Millennials buy the idea that men are oppressing women because that's the perspective they've heard from their primary parent their entire life. Millennials are as educated or more educated than past generations, but also as indoctrinated or more indoctrinated than previous generations. You can draw a straight line from these things to some of the main issues we talk about here.

Trying to make a generalization about a group of people ranging in age from early 20s to 30s is a bit silly, no?

Generation labels are pretty damn stupid to begin with. I was born in the early 80s and am sometimes considered a millennial, but I have much more in common with someone born in the late 70s than someone born in the late 90s. The largest increment we should use is by decades (80s, 90s, etc). That also has the advantage of being unambiguous, since you can probably find 20 different definitions of what years are considered "millennials."

They're the punching bag of all the failed dreams and negative feelings of the prior generation. They hate each other and themselves.

They never stood a chance. Even the ones who think they succeeded still failed compared to prior generations. Besides like two people. They're the first generation in generations to have it worse than before, but people don't want to talk about it, so discourse gets nasty.

They have grown up in a superficial instant gratification impulse driven society. Why put in the work to grow when you can just skip all of it. The matrix of entertainment is immersive and deceptive. You can live vicariously off the protagonists in tv shows, movies, and videos games. Your ego can feed off the success of talented people you watch on youtube or in sports. You can be sexually satisfied through porn. And all this take no work. They engage in the delusion of fantasy. Actually growing and developing skills in real life takes a shit ton of work and effort over time. You encounter suffering and transcend suffering in the span of a 2 hour movie without even lifting a finger. In anime, getting mad and emotional will transform and ascend you to a higher level. It is not that easy, it is never that easy. Now let's look at video games, “Oh, the monster just cut my chest open!”, “Oh, it’s ok, let’s just kill him, heal up, and fight more monsters so we can keep getting our chests ripped open and keep getting stronger, yay”. No, that is wrong. You just got your chest ripped fucking open; you are in fucking pain. Life is suffering right now. Fighting and killing monsters are also a risk. You can die. But, nope. You as a player don’t feel the pain. If you die, you can just keep coming back. You get to experience the rewards of growing and being heroic without any of the work. I mean, why even bother living in real life when you can live in the matrix of fiction? But, obviously you cannot be connected and submerged in the fantasy forever, at least not yet. Once they disconnect, the meaninglessness and insignificance of their existence will set in. They will want to connect back in. These are people that don't want to face reality and can you blame them, reality is hard, and the fantasy is tempting. They have been conditioned since they were kids to engage in the delusion of fantasy.

I've met a few through my gaming communities and I have been surprised as to how respectful and polite most of them have been. I have the same preconceived notions that most Gen Xers have but some I have met really surprised me in a good way.

As someone else mentioned, it's not the best idea to make broad generalizations. And certainly every generation likes to say some positive or negative generalizations (usually the latter) about those that come before or after themselves.

One thing I do think is notable for millennials, however, is that we have grown up with some massive technological advantages that haven't been there while previous generations were young; most notably the internet, and cell phones. I think these have had massive effects on millennials.

The internet has made certain things have become easier for us, access to information and entertainment is much simpler and it is much easier to stop yourself from being exposed to opposing viewpoints - which I think has lead to increased polarization.

Also, cell phones mean you can always be in contact with your friends, which has lead to some people lacking in social skills.

I am 22. Tiny village. I work at a saw mill. My buddies work at the saw mill. Some of them went to college. My brothers work at the saw mill. We arent crazy commies like the stereotype. Christians, conservatives, rednecks for the most part. Some of them are married, some have kids, 2 buddies are mgtow, brothers are aware of awalt but still screw around carefully. I went to college for a semester. The millennials there were a train wreck but some good people. Lots of dysfunctional products of single moms and years of brainwashing. The females are HYPER conformist and believe all the propaganda. How about you old man?

People don't behave according to which 'generational cohort' they were born in.

All the older men bashing on about 'entitlement', 'weakness', are simply people not able to recognise their own ego at work.

The guy who mentioned 'participation trophies' made me laugh the most. Doesn't happen. Made up. Fake news. Yet we've got an entire generation (see, I can do it too!) of men who are apparently to thick to work that out. Where are all these 'participation trophies'...surely every child should have a trophy cabinet festooned with them...

People are people. Generation has very little to do with it.

a lot at my job are really sensitive to criticism. They also need to be coddled with all sorts of prizes and rewards.

They don't work very hard but they work. What I mean is, people over 45 and into their fifties work with a kind of desperation to get things done and millennial just take their time and almost make a party of it. its like they go to work to hangout instead of going to work to work.

they are not very independent and seem to always have to be part of group.
