If it makes you feel any better, I know someone that works in a game store, and they say CoD is outselling BF5 12:1.
Maybe when it completely fails, they'll give up on the feminism train.
I'll take optional female reskins when appropriate, for multiplayer or storyless games as a concession to kill the female protagonist in everything movement off.

They won't. Because this isnt the first time EA has fucked shit like this up, so people are already boycotting for other reasons. So they'll never know it's selling less, because those buyers have been gone for a while. And the influx of girls gamers (I guess) will make up for those people, which I guess is the plan anyway.

I kind of agree, but at the same time, all the feminist media is going all in on this.
Even the BBC said it was a great game.
Despite all the shit CoD has pulled this year (Microtransactions, season passes, exclusive maps) the feminists seem very scared of losing out to it. - Clearly botted threads about how anti-consumer CoD was topped r/gaming a while ago.
Also "girl gamers" buy what guys are playing, so they get attention. There won't be many guys playing BF5.
Remember what happened with Wolfenstein 2, when the Trump supporters refused to buy it because it compared them to Nazis in one of the promos? It went half price in 2 weeks.
All we have to do is not give in and buy it. Buy CoD if you really need a shooter.
Also, I can't imagine many 12 year old boys buying a game with a woman soldier on the cover. Isn't that the biggest audience for these things?

Most female game characters are terrible to play as.
There are some good ones though. I liked using Ellie in the Last of Us, although in the new one she looked way overpowered compared to the men fighting her.
I also like the old school game Dark Cloud on PS2, (I'm actually playing it at the moment on PCSX2), all the female characters use magic or ranged weapons only, whereas the men used swords, hammers and axes.

She was already a lesbian, kind of. In the DLC for the Last of us, it was about her and this other girl and they kiss at one point.
It worked in the DLC though, it wasn't used to market the game, it was just there and added to the story.

That's the problem with so many gay characters, they shove it in people's faces or make it the only trait the person has, even in the walking dead michhone sideplot the gay characters were seen kissing in their first scene, and having no trait outside of "i love my gay bf"
Also the fact that in so many webcomics with gay people, they have generic homophobic characters in the plot as well being a huge Strawnan, but that's a whole other story.

It's from the game Portal. In 2006 or so when Portal came out (it's an amazing, but very short game) "The Cake is a Lie" was the only thing try-hard nerds could say for about a year.

Yeah, I was watching the following process occur at a metal concert I was at a few weeks ago. Process was like so:
Shit gets heavy.
Moshing starts.
Song ends.
Moshing stops which creates a big empty space.
Women in back rush to occupy that space because it's "better real estate" (hypergamy on the dance floor?)
Guys don't want to mosh on the next song because the women are in the way and no 200 pound man wants to stomp a 120 pound woman.
Then another song.
Then another.
Then it becomes a male space again, because the girls up front get drinks, so the center women who stole our murder floor go up front. Then the moshing starts again.
The the song ends and you jump back to the step where women move up from the back to occupy the empty spot on the dance floor.
Fucking infuriating. Take a social cue you're supposedly better at reading than us and stay out of the spot. FUCK! I JUST WANTED TO HIT PEOPLE!

Women are so dumb. The future of gaming is smaller independent games. Game engines are getting better every month. 20 years ago you needed a team of dozens of people to make a top game. Today you need teams of hundreds of people and millions of dollars.
Today a single person can make the calibre of games dozens of people did 20 years ago in less time. The biggest games today look like crap with disgusting simple but good gameplay mechanics. Fortnite,pubg,Dota,csgo, etc...
AAA games need to rely on story and amazing artists to sell. And anyone can write a good story, and AI even today does art significantly better than 90% of artists these days.

I mean, there were always a handful of girl gamers (I really feel like they were outnumbered 10 to 1, but they were definitely there) but suddenly one day they just decided they needed to start being noisy around 2006. I don't know what happened. I'd blame Facebook, but we had Myspace before that.
