You're talking about the biggest injustice perpetrated by feminism. The law originally said that it was rape if someone were INCAPACITATED by alcohol, not if they were simply drunk. Drunk is a wide term that can mean anything from someone has had some drinks and is feeling good to someone is passed out and in danger of alcohol poisoning. Not all drunkenness is the same.

I have trouble with alcohol taking away ones legal right to consent. People knwo what alcohol does. If they want, they can drink alone at home. If you drink socially, and especially if you drink excessively....you know what alcohol does!!! I see it as much a purposeful attempt to lower ones inhibitions. Now, that doesnt mean they are doing it SPECIFICALLY for sexual inhibition purposes, but thats the thing about lowering your inhibitions, you dont know exactly how its going to efffect you, you dont know what situation is going to arise....You have to expect any given inhibition will be lowered, and might be relevant to your experience while under the influence.

This is a weak analogy, but bear with me.....if you meet a woman at some place (not drunk) and start flirting....well, that flirting might start a chain reaction leading to her wanting and even maybe getting sex. IS this rape? Because shes under the influence of your flirting? Well, if you at first chained her to a chair, then forced her eyes eopn like in that movie, then demonstrated your value, that would be rapish. But she had the oppurtunity to walk out of the original meeting, but chose to see if she liked your flirting. Its not too different from alcohol, at the fundamental level.

At my college, they have some dumbass rule in place that lets them punish on a 51% likelihood chance (I forget what the rule is called, but essentially if a girl calls rape on a guy he’s screwed no matter what because they don’t have to listen to the law to punish him)
