A good justice system protects everyone equally. When you're accusing someone of a crime, that might be frustrating because you "know" they are guilty and should be punished. But the fact is that emotional people quite often jump to the wrong conclusions. So justice should be impartial, fair, and break ties in favor of the accused. Ben Franklin said "That it is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer, is a Maxim that has been long and generally approved."

The MeToo movement has worked to build a system they would rather see innocent people punished than let a single guilty one go free. For example Emily Lindin said "If some innocent men’s reputations have to take a hit in the process of undoing the patriarchy, that is a price I am absolutely willing to pay." and that she was "not at all concerned about innocent men losing their jobs" over false allegations.

A system that punishes people blindly is great as long as you (and no one you care about) are not on the receiving end of the capricious punishment. But once a tool like this is made, you don't get to control who uses it.

Now we see women on the receiving end of presumptive guilt and people are starting to realize that people like Franklin who set up our criminal justice system knew what they were doing. (They knew what could go wrong because many early colonists of the US were sent here as punishment from Europe, often with at best a sham trial.)

Why isn't the US governemnt going after her? They would go after a man in the same position? This governemnt is going to have big problems in the future if it keeps playing this gender shit.
