I had a girlfriend like this once. Actually, I think every single woman I've ever been with has exhibited this sort of behavior, to more or lesser degrees. When confronted about it, they typically will pick one of two responses.

1: The 'I'm Not a Piece of Property' response, during which they'll fly off the fucking handle and lose their shit on you. They'll claim that you're treating them like property or a possession and get angry to solicit pity points or an apology and if you give in to that, you are fucked. If you bring up the fact that if you were to partake in the same behavior as them, they'd flip the fuck out, and you'd be right. In either circumstance, guess what? You don't win.

2: The "I Like It When You Get Jealous" response in which they tell you how they wanted to test how you would react to such shitty behavior, and how they like feeling protected or they like it when you're jealous/possessive over them. Really, this is their excuse for putting you through a shit test. They just want to see how much they can manipulate you. Once you give into that, you are fucked because they know your weaknesses. Sometimes they'll even use that as a springboard for other nefarious shit. Such as talking about ex-boyfriends that 'abused' them or 'treated them like shit' or some guy grabbed their ass, whatever story they come up with. This kind of shit gets men put in jail, the hospital, or killed. All over some stupid shit the woman came up with in her head that probably wasn't reality anyway.

For instance, one of my ex-girlfriends, after she had left me had apparently gotten with another guy about a week after I kicked her ass out. I was glad to be free of this bitch and working, doing my thing, when one night after I got home from work, I get a phone call at about 1AM from a number I don't recognize.

Thinking it might be somebody I know, just they got a new phone or something, I answer the call. Immediately this guy's calling me a bastard, I heard you beat [Ex's name], I'm gonna kick your fuckin' ass, where you live, all this other shit.

Now I could have reacted the same way he was, in anger. But in the back of my head, I knew this was the same kind of shit she had attempted to pull on me before. Trying to get me to go kick some dude's ass for some shit he had done to her, or trying to manipulate jealousy into anger, etc.

So I said: "Yeah, she tried telling me that same shit about all of her ex's and believe me, it was alot of different dudes, but I didn't fall for that shit. Listen man, I gotta say, I don't know what the situation is with you and her, but if you're with her I gotta tell you some shit man to man."

Dude calmed down almost immediately and we started talking. He had suspicions that she was a cheater, a gold-digger, etc. I confirmed all of them to him with my own personal experience. We ended up talking about life and shit and he ended up dumping her ass that night, he called me back and let me know that all I said had even been confirmed by her.

Ended up good friends with the dude and we drink beer every now and again. He still thanks me for being straight with him and red-pilling him on that bitch before he ended up with an empty wallet and a busted fuckin' heart.

My point is, this is an example of AWALT. It's almost formulaic in the way they try to manipulate, almost like there's a fucking guide book on it or something because they all try the same shit. Ultimately, I decided that they juice isn't worth the squeeze, but I know there's some guys here that still date or may still be married/involved in a LTR. My word of warning is the second that you slip up and let them manipulate you a little bit, it's a slippery fucking slope from there. Cover your ass and be ready for the other shoe to drop, because they'll take advantage in any way that they can. Water's wet, balls roll, gravity works and that's the way shit goes.

When my last ex brought up some shit about a co-worker at her job hitting on her and this and that, I knew she was trying that fucking game on me. I said: "Alright, go fuck him then, you'll find the locks changed and your shit on the porch."

Shit went FUBAR after that but she monkey-branched quite easily. Never stopped claiming I abused her around town, only thing is I know alot of people in town and nobody fucking believed her and everybody called her out on her shit.
