You gotta understand, race here is a big factor. Bear in mind that things like Jim Crow and the Civil Rights movement weren't that long ago. So there's still racial tensions and when you have people from two groups that are at odds with each other having babies, there's going to be people mad. And if course there's men and women who get together with someone from another race just to stick it to the man, or to the man's women. Same reason I suspect many women around here go "lesbian".

thanks for explanation mate! I just find it weird that such tensions are so prevalent. Maybe its because back in my home country there are plenty of people with different ethnicities, from Germans to Koreans with everything in between just in one town. There are some jokes and shit, but marriages between different races/ethnicities/religions are not a big deal. And all those different people groups are relatively new to the country, because most were moved here during Stalin's reign, but people dont have any tensions at all even though such a small period of time had passed, especially when you compare to 400+ years of whits-black coexistence in America which does have these interracial tensions, which I find, well, odd

Imagine for example if the serfs of the Russian empire were a distinct ethnic group identifiable by skin color. Let's say, for example, they all had blue skin, like something out of the Avatar movie. If that were the case, then in the USSR and even in modern post Soviet times, there would still be hatred and rivalry between the blue and non-blue people.

I would say this depends on where in the United States you are and the people you interact with, which is probably true anywhere on the globe.In some parts of the United States, they don’t acknowledge the end of the Civil War or the outcome. At the other extreme there are places where people actually believe and act like all people are created equal. In general I would say racism is lessening in the United States, though certainly not under the current president.
