The amount of abuse is understated, especially emotional. Also because men are taught that we can’t be victims lest we be considered a pussy. After my divorce and I started talking to a therapist to help process everything, even she was quick to tell me I was a victim of abuse, even physical. I still knee-jerk think I wasn’t/can’t be, but when she said/asked “Take the things she did and said, and imagine if you had done and said them. Would you forgive yourself for doing so, and would she have been able to call the police and possibly been able to have you arrested?”

That made me pause. Still does... for everyone, especially men, stand up for yourselves and look at it that way. If something a woman does could have you thrown in jail if you did it, speak up, and get away

I try to say “it shouldn’t be about women. It should be about fighting the abuse regardless of the gender.” But THEY DON’T HEAR IT. I get “Yeah I know but women have suffered in silence for so long...” I’m like “I understand that but the enemy isn’t men, it’s abusive people.” And they say “Right and men are the cause of 90% of violent crimes in the US alone. It’s time women speak up.” It’s at that point I just tell them they are programmed, brain washed... Women don’t want abuse to stop. They want to be right.

This girl was having a cat fight at a party with the other hens in her group. The one girl didn't want her drinking and driving. She started saying she was just a "jealous bitch" I was standing in the kitchen eating a chicken wing when I thought I would offer up some advice. I said "maybe she just cares about you?" That's when she turned on me.

Told me to "get the fuck out of the kitchen!" I told her " Ill leave when I'm done my chicken wings" She tried forcible moving me from the kitchen. She couldn't move me. Then she started to tell me if I didn't move, she would kick my ass. What she didn't know is that I decided to transition that night. I was now a female and ready and willing to teach that bitch a lesson.

I know objectively this is wrong and should be treated the same as the reverse situation but I can't help but feel like scoffing at the guy for getting beat up by a woman. I mean, come on. The first strike she threw should have been the last.

Then again he might have been handcuffed by fear of the law/social reprisal since women are so favored even if they are the aggressor.

I just got out of a relationship with a girl that has bipolar disorder + anger issues. She would snap and start swinging at me. I wouldn’t leave and feel stupid for staying as long as I did.

It’s weird being on the other side of it, doesn’t seem like others take it as seriously. I didn’t want to call the cops on her , and I knew if I retaliated I would be the one taken by the cops. Such a shitty spot to be in.

I know a girl who is in a special program for counseling, stemming from "domestic abuse". The domestic abuse she speaks of is mostly him yelling at her and telling her mean things, meanwhile, I've seen her throw her husband out of the place he was paying for after coming home from a 10 hour shift on his feet all day.

Either way, apparently just recently they opened up the domestic abuse center for men now. So now men that have been victims of domestic abuse from their female spouses can go for free and seek help+ counseling, it's a step in the right direction.

Pretty sure domestic violence includes other males you live with. If a women can do that to you, stop paying your therapist and go do karate instead to learn how to block.

Maybe I'm just old (not really 37) but it's like a large % of males see the female victim hood bandwagon and want in on the action.

I was multiple times at the receiving end of emotional and physical abuse from my ex. I have always been extremely calm and I never hit her in all the years we've been together, but when we had arguments she usually resorted to channel her rage into physical assault.

She punched, kicked, spit, throw things at me, pushed me around, blocked me from leaving the room, and even tried to sexually assault me. I won't describe the emotional abuse tactics used because it would take 10 pages.

Yes, I never went to the hospital for that but on many occasions I feared I could have (I had minor injuries), and the most painful thing to endure was seeing a person I cared for trying to hurt me, to assault me, instead of trying to discuss about our issues in a constructive way.

Do people have any idea what is like to be with a person who is unable to accept a discussion without resorting to violence?

Do people have any idea how hard is it to be the one who always, and I repeat, always have to restrain himself and gently avoid or block the other person to avoid being hurt?

Do people who scream about women abuse have any idea how it's like to be in a relationship where you are the one physically abused but knowing no one will believe or side with you if you come out and seek help?

I was lucky that my ex loved me and cared for me all the times we've been together despite our problems (you are reading that right), because it she didn't restrain herself when on rage she could and would probably stabbed me to death.

I have ZERO doubt that if roles were reversed and someone ever saw the situation (or she reported me), I would have been kicked in a cell to rot for life.

One of the main reasons I break up with her was because of this... I couldn't take this kind of abuse anymore and, most importantly, I couldn't think of having a family where these kind of things were considered normal.
