Wimenz Logic: "Making abortions illegal won't stop abortions!"
Also Wimenz Logic: "Making guns illegal will eliminate guns!"

This is exactly why I cringe whenever I see ANY man that’s on the left. The logic simply doesn’t add up. I mean how hard is it to sit there and think about this logically if you aren’t knowledgeable on the subject? Must be all that soy. All they have to do is think about what you just said. The brainwashing is deep!

Dude I get pissed off in under 10 minutes of going on reddit reading all the comments on Mainstream subs. They seem like they're all written by the same pathetic fuck. Over and over and over again, endlessly. And any opposition gets shut down instantly... fuck all of it and I'm saying this unironically not trolling please ignore my Comment history

Hey hey hey, I'm Korean so soy is a staple part of my diet, but i ain't no left bitch either.

dont understand how soy became synonymous with a squealing bitch. soys not bad.

Soy lowers testosterone. It has estrogens in it iirc.
[–]Trollileo1232 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It doesnt, those phytoestrogens do not work the same way as estrogen, not only that, but even if you consumed pure estrogen, it would be destroyed in the stomach. Same with any steroid.
[–]DasWolffy1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't know. I think there's something to it. If you take a look at those whose diet consists of a lot of soy and those who eat/drink little to no soy. The ones who ingest it are much smaller and softer looking that those who do not. I also find it suspect since there's more of a push by mainstream media to get people to stop eating meat and switch over to soy and other plants. Something about it doesn't sit right. I'll find more stuff to read on it but I'm going to continue to avoid it personally.
[–]Trollileo1231 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I understand you would be worried and you dont have to eat soy anyway but trust me its not an issue.

You have to understand, abortion bans, Prohibition and the Drug War were all enacted by old white men, which is why they didn't work. These gun bans they want were thought up by a much more "diverse" group, which is why they will work.
It's the sublimely arrogant logic they apply to communism and socialism. Despite having a body count of over 100,000,000, communism will work this time around because today's leftists will be a the helm. These people don't even know what gender they are, but they're going to correct all the mistakes made by socialists of yesteryear. That is some weapons grade arrogance.

As one of those neckbeard libertarian assholes, I always use the same arguments for abortion, guns, speech and free enterprise. I have zero friends left on the left/right extremes.
[–]Mitosao2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That works like a charm to take guns away from those who fear the law. The problem is that criminals are not in that group.
[+]Acevolts-12 points-11 points-10 points 6 years ago (52 children) | Copy Link
There's a pretty big difference between an unsafe procedure and a gun. Guns are always unsafe, no matter what. Abortions aren't typically unsafe if they're done in a legal way, and even then they're only mildly unsafe to the women having them. If you can't see the difference between a weapon and a surgery, then you don't get to use the word "logic".
[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link
The vast majority of guns never, ever kill anyone.
Every abortion kills someone.
[–]ThisIsALine______5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Garek-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Abortions terminate a thing that doesn't have a brain and thus not deserving moral consideration.
That said guns shouldn't be banned either.
[+]Acevolts-10 points-9 points-8 points 6 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link
Guns are built with the express purpose to kill, and the vast majority of mass shootings involve legally purchased firearms. No, thankfully not every gun kills. But if even one life is saved by banning assault weapons, it would be worth it.
Abortions on the other hand, destroy a mindless cluster of cells. Not a person. Unless you're talking about late term abortion, which is an extremely rare occurrence and usually just done because the mother would die if it wasn't.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Guns are built with the express purpose to kill
Then most of them are seriously defective, because only a tiny, tiny fraction of guns ever kill anyone.
But if even one life is saved by banning assault weapons, it would be worth it.
If only one life is saved by banning abortion, it would be worth it.
Seriously, you're just being an NPC, mindlessly repeating your programming. Wake up.
[–]Acevolts-4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If guns aren't built to kill, then please tell me what they're built for.
Abortion is a surgical procedure that is either medically necessary to keep a woman alive, or helps people live by preventing a small cluster of cells from developing into a baby. (It's not a baby yet).
You're comparing it to a weapon with a single, express purpose, and that is to kill.
I really appreciate the irony of someone calling me an NPC "mindlessly repeating my programming", and then trying to use my own logic to form their argument.
[–]JohnWicksSpentBrass1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ever hear of the word DETERRENT?
Some people buy guns so that it will PREVENT violence.
Now you probably will figure out some way to dismiss this outright but let me let you in on something called tactics.
SOMETIMES..... you can use an offensive threat as a shield to protect yourself. That is called a DETERRENT say it with me now, kid. DE-TERR-ENT.
[–]hillbilly_mgtow5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link
Tyrant piece of shit spewing retarded bullshit. Assault weapons make a very low portion of gun violence in the us. Pistols do. Gun grabbers will never take my rifles away. EVER
[–]Acevolts-4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
Jesus Christ listen to yourself.
First of all, it's true that pistols do make up the largest amount of individual shootings in America, however that statistic leaves out how many people die in each shooting. Assault weapons are far more lethal per shooting than pistols are. This issue becomes compounded when they're used in places that people likely can't fight back, like a school, church, or store. That's the issue the assault weapons ban is meant to target.
Secondly, nobody is trying to take away the guns you already have. That's the most common misunderstanding I hear about the gun debate from conservatives. Keep your rifles. The goal is to prevent new ones from getting onto the street.
Third, and this is a genuine question, what do you hope to accomplish by owning an assault rifle anyways? You're gonna "fight the government?" I'd love to see you try. Let me tell you man, that AR-15 would look real tough next to a bomber.
[–]JohnWicksSpentBrass2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
"This issue becomes compounded when they're used in places that people likely can't fight back, like a school, church, or store. That's the issue the assault weapons ban is meant to target."
You literally just failed your arguement right there. If half the people in these places carried guns to equalize the offense of the terrorist shooting at them then 1... the terrorist would think twice before opening fire, and 2.... even if he did, he'd/she'd be brought down in a hail of gunfire before they could do the worst of the damage.
[–]hillbilly_mgtow2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Democrats are dumb lol. That shooting in Texas was stopped by a good guy with a gun in church.
[–]Acevolts-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That doesn't account for the fact that accidental gun deaths account for more deaths in this country than intentional. "A hail of gunfire". Yeah, sure, that's what we need in our public schools.
Growing up, both of my parents were teachers. The idea of having to bring a gun to work would break my mom's heart. We're talking about public school, not the fucking gulag.
Side note, it's spelled "argument", not "arguement". It's hard to take you seriously when you wouldn't pass a fifth grade spelling test.
[–]hillbilly_mgtow2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link
I use my AR to hunt. Lol if shit went down you think the armed forces would take your side? The armed forces vote majority republican. I love guns and have lots, so what happens if I get another itch and want to buy another rifle? I’m just shit out of luck? You are a tyrant. What happened to Democrats saying “we aren’t coming after your guns”?
[–]Acevolts-2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link
You use an assault rifle to hunt? That's probably the laziest thing I've ever heard in my life but sure.
And yes... I do think the armed forces would side with the government. I'm not saying that would be "my" side, because in this hypothetical conflict that would never happen I have no idea what side I would choose, but the military is quite literally part of the government. They always have and will continue to fight for the government.
It's rich hearing about how I'm a tyrant when Trump himself literally wanted to make Muslim Americans carry identification cards around to do things. Or how children are being locked in cages away from their families on our borders. Those same children aren't getting the care they need and are getting sick and dying. Or how medicine people need is too expensive for them to ever afford. But god forbid one decision is made to make children in schools safer from psychopaths.
The "gOvErnMenT iS tyRrAnNicAl" sect of Republicans are just pawns in the NRA's game. You're being used by billionaire corporations to make money, and you're too stupid and blind to realize they don't actually give a fuck about you, orbthe average American. They lobby our politicians and then use fearmongering tactics to make dumbasses like you think that Muslims, Mexicans, and poor people are causing your problems. The second you stop advertising for them, you become an "enemy to America".
Nobody is trying to take your guns. The people, not the government, but the people, are pushing for an assault weapons ban because our country objectively has more mass shootings than any other first world country. But that doesn't mean some scary FBI agent is going to show up at your door asking for your guns. An assault weapons ban would only prevent the sale of new guns.
Come to think of it, if you think the armed forces would side against the government anyways, who are you even scared of trying to take your guns? You think Bernie Sanders himself is going to show up at your door with his hands outstretched?
Wake the fuck up. You're a pawn in someone else's game to make money. A puppet. Nothing more.
Damn did u comment the whole NPC Script? I don’t have time for all that. Apparently you have never seen someone hunt hogs or coyotes. I love how it’s always the most gun-illiterate people who are trying to take them away
[–]hillbilly_mgtow2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
What is an assault weapon in your own definition ? And why are u on a mgtow sub?
[–]JohnWicksSpentBrass1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Yeah... we need to stop engaging this fucking moron. He clearly doesn't have a clue what the hell he's talking about. I bet he's never served, and has probably never shot a gun in his life. My ex sis in law was like that. Never shot a gun in her whole life and she had that "guns are stupid and unnecessary" mentality. I didn't even bother to comment. These are the exact same people who want to control and take guns from the public, but as soon as they are in trouble who do they call? Fucking people with guns!
[–]Acevolts-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I'm sure 99% of the people on this sub have never served. Why does having shot a gun validate your opinion on them?
I want to keep guns out of the hands of psychopaths. A friend of mine attended Stoneman Douglas and had graduated the year before it got shot up. I had to watch her go through the pain of having lost friends to gun violence. When I see people with the NRA's hand up their ass, I feel the need to correct them.
[–]JohnWicksSpentBrass3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
People having shot and been trained with firearms have a knowledge base that you don't. Trained gunfighters who have not only seen gun violence but have responded to it with equal force have much more knowledge and expertise than you.
Are you going to tell your surgeon how to operate on you? No? What makes this different? Clearly your surgeon knows things about operating you dont. You have no clue to what it is you seek to restrict.
So your friend had a painful experience. Ask yourself and her this. If you'd had guns when the school got shot to shut would you still feel so traumatized or would you have felt empowered to defend yourself if you saw the shooter come at you?
[–]Acevolts0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
My surgeon would be operating on me. As in, helping other people. Outside of the military/police, civilians with assault weapons have caused far more innocent deaths than guilty ones.
Your argument that not using guns makes me unqualified to talk about it is basically the same as the "no uterus no opinion" argument that I know wouldn't fly on this sub. (I think that argument is stupid too). I might not have much experience shooting guns, but I can sure as hell be shot by them.
[–]JohnWicksSpentBrass2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
All you do is deflect and disregard without actually stopping to think. You are worse than a woman. Blatantly ignorant and yet still think you are qualified to speak with any level of authority on a subject you know absolutely nothing about. You don't even really know what an "assault rifle " is.
Edit: this is a waste of time. It's clear you're not going to bother actually thinking this through. You're basing your views on emotions because your friend went through some trauma. You're just mindlessly afraid and that is why you seek restriction. You make me fucking sick. I'm done here. Take a defensive gun class and then speak.

Guns are always unsafe,
Perhaps you should work on your reading comprehension before administering a lecture on "logic."
Where, might I ask, did I say firearms were harmless? If they were, it would pretty much defeat their very purpose. And are you claiming that even weapons that are locked up and unloaded are lethal? Yeah, sure. Keep workin' that hamster to death.
As for abortions' safety, it would be a lot more effective for women to simply keep their legs closed, now wouldn't it?
Looks like your NPC programming is glitchy and needs to be patched.
[–]Acevolts-3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The purpose of a firearm is to kill. The purpose of an abortion is a medical procedure that is often necessary for the health of the woman involved.
Sure, abortion would be unnecessary if women never had sex. It would also be unnecessary if men never had sex either. Then again, if you're popular on MGTOW, you probably never have.
I've gotta say, I'm fairly new to the idea of being called an "NPC" by conservatives. I actually think it's a pretty great metaphor though, since NPCs are the ones who generally control the game anyways.
[–]ThisIsALine______2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
A gun is an inanimate object. How would an unloaded gun be considered unsafe?
[–]Acevolts-2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's an asinine question, obviously someone would load a gun before doing anything with it.
[–]ThisIsALine______1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
You said guns are always unsafe, but they do need to be loaded, pointed at someone, and operated by a jackass.
Next time write: guns are SOMETIMES unsafe. Or better yet PEOPLE are sometimes unsafe. Last I checked it was people killing people.
Hammers kill more people worldwide, used with the intent to murder, should we ban hammers?
If people are illegally using guns to murder and we make it illegal to get guns how is making it not allowed to own a gun going to make a differnce. If they are willing to break the law by murdering someone, wouldn't they just break the law and get illegal firearms? Or another weapon? Oh wait, you're right they aren't allowed to, it's illegal.
[–]Acevolts0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean shit, by that logic let's just let everyone in this country have a nuke. They aren't dangerous until you set them off right?
There's so much wrong with the hammer analogy and you're missing so many of my points, but sure I'll respond to it.
Give me a source on that.
A hammer is a tool with an express purpose that doesn't involve killing. More people die by car every year than by hammer, gun, or whatever ever else you want to use in your BS argument. But because cars serve a purpose outside of just killing, nobody tries to ban them. We just try to make sure everyone who has them is properly licensed and has taken the necessary training to know how to use them safely... kind of like what most leftists are trying to do with guns. But even though cars are allowed, you're still not allowed to drive a tank down the road if it's tracks are metal and it's gun isn't disabled. Kinda like how super-dangerous guns shouldn't be allowed either.
There's a big difference in the amount of people you can murder at one time with a hammer. In all honesty, if you can walk into a movie theater and kill 30 people with a hammer then I'll eat my words.
Most guns used in mass shootings are purchased legally, and often by people who wouldn't otherwise have access to assault weapons if they were illegal. Yeah, banning assault weapons won't stop gun violence completely. Nobody thinks otherwise. But it might deter would-be criminals from becoming criminals, and that's worth it.
Most other developed nations have strict gun control and also way fucking less gun violence than this one. I guess that's just a coincidence though.
[–]DasWolffy1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
The principal still applies regardless.
[–]Acevolts-3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
The principal is a straw man argument to begin with. Nobody on the left is trying to eliminate guns entirely, and nobody on the left thinks that banning guns will even do that. I'm sure if you look hard enough, you might be able to find an example of someone who thinks that, but the vast majority of anti-gun people are well aware of the fact that banning assault weapons won't stop gun violence entirely.
[–]DasWolffy9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You think left-leaning anti-gun people want to keep guns? I'm genuinely confused.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, they do. They want to have guns to control people while disarming the people they want to control.
You can't impose socialism without guns. As Mao put it, 'all political power comes from the barrel of a gun'.

But by all means, keep crusading against this image of liberals you've created in your head.
[–]jlg48804 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That's cute, calling my original comment a straw man argument, equating emotional impulses of women with the non-existent claim of firearms being harmless.
And I'd readily expect the left has no desire to eliminate firearms entirely--you just want to eliminate them from those who have the unmitigated gall of daring to disagree with you.
When did I say you thought guns were harmless? Talk about a non-existent claim. And I would like it if assault weapons were kept out of the hands of... psychopaths? Which admittedly you may very well qualify for, but I have no interest in owning an assault weapon either.
Nice job making another strawman btw; I never said I wanted to eliminate guns entirely, and I also never said I wanted assault weapons banned just from conservatives who disagree with me. I don't care if you agree with me politically in every single way, if your background check makes it seem like you're a risk, you don't deserve a weapon of war. You're two for two on the strawman arguments now! Keep it up!

If america becomes a gun free zone then the government will become the shooter. It is better that a few people go crazy and kill tens of others than a government go crazy and kill millions that it disarmed... Mao, Stalin, Hitler,,. You want to disarm someone if they are your enemy. So ask yourself... Who wants to disarm you? Those who wan't gun control should forever give up their own right to have guns.
[+]nikolapc-8 points-7 points-6 points 6 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link
Yeah guns will surely defend you from tanks, gas bombs, and anything a modern military arsenal can unleash.
A highly armed civilian population may only lead to civil war between different similarly armed groups. Not to mention the mass shootings you have on the regular.
It is very weird to me as a European, the gun culture and the resistance to universal medical care.
Anyway, you don't have any fighting chance against your government. When your constitution was drafted, yes. Now, no. The only thing that could work is, is the only thing that worked against the US military. Protracted guerrilla warfare with asymmetrical losses.
At least you can hope that the military itself (and the highly militarised police forces) won't turn against their own people, no matter the fools in charge, but you never know. These things have happened.

Probably state against state.
No way.
State-vs-state, the military might have a chance. But the conflict in the US, as in many countries across the West, is urban vs rural. Pretty much every state would see the farmers and other rural folks fighting the city liberals. And those cities would be out of power, food and water within a few days.
Not to mention that the soldiers' families would be living in the war zone, and many would rather protect them than fight Americans with guns who share their political views.
I hope it never comes to that.
Ditto. Because at least 50% of the population would be dead before it's over.

It's almost as though low-IQ goat-herders haven't been beating the US military for twenty years with AK47s, Lee-Enfields and roadside bombs.
Besides, in a civil war, the military will be out of gas within a couple of weeks. That means no more tanks and no more planes, and troops walking to battle.

When did you defeat the Soviets? You’ve destroyed European communism by economic warfare, not military, but Russia is back, stronger. It’s the American empire that is crumbling now. maybe English is your second language? You did not understand what I said.
I said:
"better than the mujahedin in Afghanistan...They defeated both of the only Super Powers on the planet: the Soviets at their peak and the Americans at their peak"
Did you have something to say about that? Do you think that the Soviets defeated the Mujahedin in Afghanistan? Because they didn't.
Maybe you are wrong about the other things you said without any evidence?
The American empire? What empire? Are you drunk? You think Russia is strong? Besides nuclear weapons, what have they got? their Army is weak, their economy is weak, and their leadership is weak. In fact, most of the leadership just quit!
They Quit- now why would they quit such a strong country with such a bright future? The answer is that Russia is a has-been country that has been on a decline since we defeated them in the Cold War. And Putin can't be president past 2024, so the lie of democracy is about to face its final demise.
yeah Russia is indeed crumbling, and what we see is the slow death of a country that has wonderful people, and a string of ruthless dictators that used up the people and resources, and are a disgrace. They can't even get any loans to float their troubled economy, because their word is worthless.

Sorry, it’s late. I misread that. Yeah you can do guerrilla warfare I said that in the first post.
The difference being it’s different fighting a proxy war and a civil war in your own country. The government going rogue and the military and police attacking civilians is a very unlikely scenario. The more likely one is as I said states vs states like the previous one or groups against groups. In any case it would be chaos. America is an empire in the same way he Soviet Union was and all the empires before it. Just because it doesn’t declare itself as such, doesn’t make it less true. You project power, have military outside your territory, occupy other states and exploit their resources. You even have vasal states. That’s an empire. And a militaristic one. Empires rise, reach a peak and fall. Your empire is in decline. Doesn’t mean the US will disintegrate, but it is also an option and a spark for a civil war. The European imperial powers kept their homeland but lost their empires.
Yes, Russia is strong and getting stronger. They had their decline in the 90s with the American puppets until Putin came to power and lifted it from the rock bottom it hit. The govt quitting is part of Putin’s engineering, and I don’t think it’s because he wants to hold onto power forever, like the alarms In the western media, and do another switcheroo, it is because he wants to create an infrastructure of power that will last after he is retired or dead. Whether he will succeed or not, we’ll see
[–]Lab_Golom0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Well thanks for at least being civil, I did not expect that. I disagree about Putin, but that's OK, at least here it is.
And from any metric America is stronger than it has ever been, with one notable exception: our political power.
I will agree that has been severely diminished by our right wing leader, Trump. Many say he is Putin's puppet, and I would agree. He is doing more to destroy our "empire" than anyone in our short history.
But he does not get to stay forever, and we will fix it. With politics or bullets if he goes against our Constitution.
That is why we are so proud. we can change our governments direction, or the actual government itself if we chose.
And if foreign powers cheat our elections, we will go after them after we clean house here.
[–]nikolapc-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Try and change it then. Hopefully without guns.
It is already against your constitution. It's not of the people, by the people, for the people any more. It's of corporations for corporations in the chase of the newest highest ideal, the almighty profit. You're not free, you are mostly debt slaves trained in consumerism, which keeps the shackles on. But sure, keep the guns, those protect against uncertainty and fear of the future, right? Keep your ridiculous medical system that has people fearing to even see a doctor because of the costs.
States were made to provide security to people, and most modern states provide at least some semblance of social, educational, medical, property and body security, as well as infrastructure. For that racket you pay taxes. If a state does not do those services adequately it is a failed state.
[–]Lab_Golom0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I have had education, security, infrastructure, medical care, social support and even travel paid for by my state. I pay the lowest taxes on the planet.
Everything is top-notch. I live in Texas, and just our economy is bigger than the entire Russian economy. I have never waited in line over a couple of minutes. Thanks for cheering me up!
I own a sprawling ranch with cattle and other animals, and two natural gas wells. I am only in my early 50's.
You are just trolling now.
You enjoy that life over in mother Russia, I will enjoy mine here in Texas.
[–]nikolapc0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So you’re saying you had free college, universal medical, and subsidized travel. Social security when you’re sick, can’t work and get paid anyway? 4 months of paid vacation, 9 months maternity leave? That’s what my country has it will be nice if you had it too. Your individual success is not a metric for how a state treats all of its people. And I am not Russian, my country is one of the poorest in Europe by absolute standards(not PPP nor quality of life) but we still have that. And what you have is terrible crippling debt. Pay your taxes.
[–]Lab_Golom1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I have always happily paid my extremely low taxes.
I got many benefits from being an American soldier. The wells were just dumb luck. I have enjoyed most of the benefits.
Since we are tearing apart countries for what they lack, let's discuss yours. Surely your country is a shining example of "how to do everything 100% right, while being a shining beacon of freedom" what is that countries' name?
[–]nikolapc1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
It's not even remotely so. We have very corrupt governments that pilfer the coffers. But we still have what I numbered.
so what was the point in tearing into my country? America has done lots of good in this world, my friend. How quickly people forget.
[–]BetaBeGone2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Guns can be very effective especially combined with military personnel who rebel against their tyrannical commanding officer. Civil wars historically involve a divide that reaches into the government sector... isn’t that obvious?
The first thing dictators do is disarm their citizens so they can be more easily enslaved.
I prefer an open market where insurance companies have to compete to get your money and so offer better care at lower cost. Trump wants to remove the artificial boundaries that limit competition amongst insurance companies. I do not want the government stealing money from my paychecks (ultimately at gunpoint) to buy my healthcare from providers that do not have the incentive which is found in competition.
“At least you can hope that the military itself (and the highly militarised police forces) won't turn against their own people, no matter the fools in charge, but you never know. These things have happened.”
...Yeah, like in Europe.
Tommy Tommy Tommy Robinson!
[–]nikolapc1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
You need to eliminate private health insurance companies or at least not have them be the backbone. You have absurd costs. Every other developed country and most of the developing ones have universal care. Keep your guns if you want but you are paying the price for it in constant mass murders. These things are also related as you also need to address everyone in need getting mental health care.
Also thanks folks for the downvotes for the dissenting opinion. Now I have to wait 10 min to reply to people, which is frustrating, and that’s conducive to a healthy debate. It’s late here. GN.
[–]BetaBeGone2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Wrong. We need to remove the artificial boundaries that give private health insurance companies more of a monopoly in their area. When they have to compete then they have to offer better care at lower cost or go out of business. Government run healthcare is essentially a monopoly which explains its reputation for relatively worse quality care at higher costs (costs that are obscured).
I would rather have 1,000s die by mass shooters than 1,000,000s die by governments shooting their own...nazi Germany, communist Russia, China, Cambodia, Cuba,, Most of the U.S. mass shootings have been in gun free zones.
You are factually wrong. Americans pay way way more, for worse healthcare. Sure if you are rich or at least somewhat affluent and can afford better health care than the universal one, pay more and get that. But nobody should face financial ruin because they got sick.
Also you seem to think gun control is about taking away all your guns. It’s more about like going trough a painstaking bureaucratic DMV like experience to get licensed for a gun, with very deep background checks, and not buying ammo in Walmart like you’re grocery shopping.
I don’t want to ever own a gun despite our governments being corrupt as hell, having lived through two insurgencies on my doorstep, and all the civil wars in our neighboring states in the 90s, plus the courtesy of American bombardment. People here are kinda fed up of shooting others for various interests. War is hell. Don’t invite it. How about some peaceful civil protest and disobedience like the civil rights movement and the anti Vietnam sentiment, or how India won its independence. They can’t kill you all.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Americans pay way way more,
Because the system is utterly corrupt, thanks to decades of companies buying politicians to give them exemptions to the normal rules of business. Yet those corrupt politicians are supposed to somehow make healthcare much cheaper when they're running the hospitals themselves.
for worse healthcare.
That'll be why when Europeans can't get the treatment they want, they go to the US to buy it.
Also you seem to think gun control is about taking away all your guns.
That's exactly what it's about.
They can’t kill you all.
Tell that to the hundred-million-plus people the communists murdered last century.
Oh, you can't. They're dead.
[–]BetaBeGone3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
The solution is to remove the artificial boundaries that prevent free market competition and so returning to the better health care America had before it became more like a socialist country with increasingly monopolized health care.
Wrong. Gun control is slave control. The end goal is to disarm all the peasants of a nation and its allied nations to then bloom socialism into communism.
Put a sign on your door that says “Gun Free Zone”.
[–]nikolapc-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
We are already a gun free zone as a region, except some certain anomalies. But even then, almost all of the gun crimes are of passion, 2 or 3 people are dead, not a mass shooting.
[–]BetaBeGone0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Germany, Russia, Cambodia,, were similar gun free zones before their governments turned on them and many millions died.
Gun Free is a deception it is really Gun Banned. You are banned from your government from owning a gun while they have guns...that is because they are superior to you and you are inferior and not trustworthy to have a gun...in this regard you are no better than a criminal, mentally ill person, slave,, as they are not allowed to have guns either.
You are an inferior peasant at the mercy of your glorious superiors. Just surrender to them and they will choose your future. Trust them with all your heart...they would never abuse you.
[–]nikolapc0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You've watched too many cartoonish depictions of foreign countries. I can have a gun. Legally a handgun or a hunting rifle or an illegal AK. I choose not to have one as do most people here. I feel safe in my neighborhood, despite there being a literal urban battle 2 blocks from me a few years ago with some terrorists. The police were on it. Anyway, the Germans and their allies Bulgarians were here too, and we didn't go as lambs to slaughter.
We resisted and did guerrilla warfare. There was communism here too. We didn't die en masse. In fact it was pretty pleasant once it matured, and it had its golden decades.

Eastern Europe, Western Balkans, North* Macedonia. We had our share of gun violence, wars and insurgencies, don't need more.
