It's usually just good to eat away from home during the weekend. I eat nothing but salad during the week or a steak dinner. What really matters is money and the time to workout, the time to take an hour and 30 (At least for me) for cardio and maybe an extra amount of time for weight lifting. Still I prefer to cook, less money is used and it really just depends on what you cook that makes you gain weight and waste time.

For me, I find meal prep to be incredibly convenient and cheap. I cook large batches of food on Saturday, then set them in the fridge to eat throughout the week. Simply microwave it, and it's ready. There are many healthy foods like dried beans, frozen vegetables, rice, etc that you can buy in bulk for a few dollars and add to your meal prep dishes that make eating healthy very easy.

Do like I do: on Sunday evenings I do meal prep for the whole week (lunch/dinner). Only takes around 2 hours. I use the round 3-section meal containers.

Cooking every night is definitely time consuming and encourages you to give up and eat out, eat fast food, etc.

If you have time to post here you also have time to look after your health and your wallet. No need to tell you how to do it and how to cook tasty and nutritious food. The info is out there for you. Countless sources and ideas...90% of my meals are homemade. So much better,more nutritious and cheaper!

This is bullshit. You go to the grocery store once or twice a week with a shopping list based on a meal plan. That way, you have everything you need in the kitchen and you know what you are going to do with it. You're not roasting a turkey for one; you're preparing some meat and vegetables for yourself. It doesn't take hours.

Video games are a time sink. Reddit is a time sink. Cooking is time well spent.

I mostly cook. It’s not that hard. Start slow, a few basic techniques, simple recipes and expand from there. It doesn’t take a huge amount of time to make dinner for one. Even complex recipes usually consist mostly of downtime waiting for things to rise, marinate, cook etc. I enjoy cooking though, so its different if you approach it like a chore. Subsisting primarily on take out/delivery is a very expensive way to go through life.

Buy automated appliances. They do stuff in the background. Like you take frozen vegetables, put them in an electric pressure cooker, and go back after some time to take it out and eat.

I eat mostly organic at home. It costs about $3/meal compared to $10-15 eating out. Restaurants also use lots of plastic in food prep, which is bad for your nuts. And the pesticides in non organic are bad too. Cook batches to save time

A staple meal in a slow cooker is easy and damn good with a little practice. A steak and egg breakfast is ten minutes tops. The time:price:nutrition ratio is better than any eat-out meal.

I do it for fun. Relatively easy and cheap to eat healthy doing it yourself. For me it's a hobby.
