I always found it odd how we hear about equality, but a lot of women still expect the guy to pay. I've met some cool ones that pay for the tab, but the majority of what I experienced sit by and expect the guy to pay.

While funny and all there's an important idea I don't think most men understand:

most/many women think they are above average attractiveness;
when these women expect/demand above equal consideration it's only partly because they are female rather it's because they are (apparently) an 'above average attractive' female;
equality then is for average looking women in the mind of most women whereas their above average attractiveness should (in their mind) warrant above equal behaviour.

I'm completely fine with splitting the bill, but by that I mean that I'm ready to pay for myself. Believe me or not but I've been on dates when a guy says "Let's split the bill" and he means 50/50 while I only had a salad and one beer and he ordered a huge steak and drank 3 beers. This is not cool, guys.

I believe that whoever asks should pay or split. If I ask you out, I'm paying or splitting. If you ask me out, just let me know ahead of time that you want to split the bill or if you're paying. I don't like to be presumptious, but I feel like it's rude to ask. Any idea how to handle that? Just in case I am ever asked out again in my life...
