Red Rocks amphitheatre is generally open to the public if there's not a show there that day. It's fantastic. If there's a show, get tickets and go. you won't regret it, regardless of the event!

1.) Denver Museum of Natural History

2.) Denver Art Museum

3.) 16th Street Mall (although, it's pretty tourist-trappy)

4.) You can do a little google searching on your own, but there are a ton of Micro-breweries around downtown (if you drink)

5.) Cannabis: If you can smoke, or do, TONS of dispensaries. But BEWARE. Public consumption is illegal and WILL get you a $200+ citation

6.) Pepsi Center may have some Avalanche Games, or Nuggets games.

7.) If you have the ability to travel around, at least close to Denver, you can drive right up into the mountains. If so, you can drive up I-70 into Copper Mountain, Silverthorne, Vail, Breckenridge

8.) More driving: Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park

9.) Restaurants: Too many to list. Can eat out almost anywhere

10.) Colorado Symphony may have something playing (but that can be pricey if short notice)

11.) Lots of smaller/hole in the wall/dive bars around that have local gigs/bands

12.) Denver Aquarium (it's cool, but expensive. Not like Denver has a ocean anywhere close)

There's a small list of things. I'm local to the metro area, but I won't say more due to my post history and privacy.

Been a long time since I've been out there, but here's my suggestion. Before anything, pick up a Westword, a free magazine that will give you all the local events and things to do. They have them everywhere, even in newspaper machines on the street corners.
You can head over to 16th street pedestrian mall for some people watching - it will give you a good feel for the vibe of the city. It's open air and pretty chill. Don't need to spend any money for the experience either. If you like jazz you could always check out El Chapultepec in the evening. It's down on 20th and Market in the bar district and not far from 16th street mall. It's good fuckin' jazz, not this elevator music shit.
The Denver Art Museum is centrally located and not far from there, either.
You also have The Mayan Theater for some artsy flicks with a chill neighborhood bar right next to it. The Hornet, I think, is the name of the bar.
If all of that isn't your scene, then just check out the events in the Westword for something more your style.
