Instead of coming home to half a million dollars bank account or more from being in a situation to easily be frugal and save while working. You come home to no home, tens of thousands in debt and nothing to show for it, thousands of dollars in back child support and future income to alimony and child support and your wife's boyfriend driving your car.

I was stationed in Alaska, and served in an Engineer Battalion. We had this one 12B saying that he was going to marry a girl he knew from high school, and immediately his buddies all said "Great, then we can all fuck her!" Laughs all around, including the guy who said he'd marry. I worked at HQ and saw many marriages and divorces occur within mere months.

Tricare. Brings back memories: After I separated I had some residual dental work done at the local VA hospital, and I remember in the waiting room there was a woman crying there, military spouse, complaining that she was in pain, but they couldn't do any work on her, because with that "Tricare" thing, they could only do dental on active duty people. Circa 2004. Stay away from the US military scam like the fucking plague. It's a cleverly designed scummy lying machine.

I was in the air force. The amount of women that exploit thirsty service men for all their benefits and cheat on them is fucking disgusting. the government needs to do something about it!! its easily one of the biggest wastes of money in our country.

It's baffling the military doesn't warn its people about this type of thing. So many promising lives ruined.

One deployment and the expense free year that came with it allowed me to save enough money for a down payment on a house. Everyone who had dependa at home basically ended the year no better off than when they started and often worse.

Later on, in a different unit, I was a part of the detachment that stayed behind while everyone else went on deployment. A major part of our job was to get everything ready for all the divorces and rape accusations that were bound to happen when the tour was over and the husbands came back to find their wives cheating on them.

It was routine, and expected.

They know these guys have all kinds of benefits with the enticing extra that he could get killed leaving her with the life insurance. The military really should do a training course on how not to get married as these marriages/divorces cost the military so much time, money, and energy

I lost count of how many times I saw a woman divorce her husband within months of him getting his 20 year retirement so she could get half of it. They couldnt wait to cash in, free money for life. It was disgusting.
