Protesting isn't vandalising and robbing shops, so I personally wouldn't give a shit if shop owners, delivery drivers and other law abiding citizens armed themselves and opened fire, killing every single looter as they all opportunist violent scum, who serve no purpose in society.

You Americans are really lucky to have the freedom to arm yourselves and protect your businesses / homes from scum, whilst here in England you have to be extremely careful with a burglar, who has broken into your home, violated your safe space, stolen your possessions and who could possibly murder you or your loved ones as scum has so many rights, which is ridiculous.

I think protesting is pointless but acceptable. But what i'm seeing is not protesting, it's more of just an attack on America and an anti-white, anti-male circle jerk. Everybody in the world agreed that Floyd was murdered and that cop should be charged. Then he was. The FBI and President even involved themselves in the investigation.

But that's not enough. It never is. And again the people who tend to not care about me (white male)demand I care about them. I saw a BLM sign that said, "We just need your help with #Blacklivesmatter for black lives are in danger," i'm not very worried about Black lives and neither are Blacks. They kill eachother at crazy high rates. On top of that both Blacks and Cops kill whites in greater numbers, so i'm in more danger than they are so shut the fuck up about it. uhg.

Sorry to be harsh, but social media is really annoying right now and i'm sick of it.

I doubt many supports rioting, but who knows. It’s not like the cops care. It’s not their money affected. In fact they’re probably getting over time so they’re making money from all this.

Anyone who supports rioting or looting needs to get his head examined.

Society is a mutual agreement to settle differences by law rather than violence or destruction. Once that's gone, society will collapse.

The people supporting it only do so because they think they are immune from the consequences. Like that bitch on the vid, "But I'm on your side!" No, once the Hounds of Hell are released, everyone will be eaten.

Rioters and looters should be shot, period.

I don’t support the looting or destruction of small businesses. I would prefer they destroy govt buildings and property (not monuments) and stores, particularly the headquarters and flagship stores of corporations because they have influence. I don’t like violence against officers and I know that’s not way to go but it’s hard to have any sympathy for them especially when people have been asking for them to stand up against the bad ones. Change never seems to happen without violence so here we are but I’m ready for peaceful discussions now. There are other ways to protest.

I support riots, as long as they are directing their anger at an organisation they are forced to interact with that refuses to improve their interactions.

I do not support riots that assault those unrelated to the source of their anger, or that destroy the property of those unrelated to the source of their anger.

I don't support the rioting. Rioters should face the full might of the law and judicial system.

I support peaceful protesting.

However, I view the current protesting with massive apprehension. From my point of view, they are enabling and encouraging the behaviour of the rioters, by limiting the ability of the police to do their job and use force when necessary.

When arsonists are running around burning peoples shops and homes, and rioters are throwing bricks at people and stoning them in mobs, you cannot have the police stand back with their hands tied, all because 1 policeman out of a million law enforcement officials murdered a man.

Furthermore, downplaying the rioting and excusing their behaviour due to "pent up anger" or the "need to vent and air their grievances", just hands over opportunities for thugs to terrorise innocent civilians, while conveniently absolving them of any responsibility or sense of accountability or even a basic, decent sense of human morality.

And that's what this is: domestic terrorism. Staged and coordinated attacks on neighbourhoods across the country. People being paid to riot. Bricks, flammable material, and pipe bombs being conveniently placed in preparation for rioters.

If someone feels that their only avenue for redress against systemic injustice is wanton violence and indiscriminate assault and murder, then that person has no place in civilised society.

I don’t support police brutality, either, which is how much of this is being painted. The question is often parsed in such a way where one side gets to define both positions, and falsely paints the opposing view. It’s either “support the protests” or “racist”.

I’m just not buying the whole “systemic/institutionalized” racism. Much like the gender pay gap is not due to sexism, it’s due to the different choices men and women make. Banks make loans on credit scores, not on race. And I’d bet they dare not look into scholarships being offered that list “minority preferred” in their description.

A lot of what’s going on now is a combination of things. So many people want to be part of the trend. Just like the ice bucket challenge a few years ago, most of those people didn’t care about ALS or donate money, they just wanted to be part of something trendy with the “cool kids”. Looters are just trying to get freebies under the backdrop of social justice.

Then there is the political angle. Whether you like Trump or not, the economy was roaring and unemployment was at a record low. The corona virus pandemic hit, and now this. Some people would willingly tank the economy just to try to win an election. Yes, the virus will kill some people, but a bad economy will kill people, too.

There is some real sinister stuff going on, but voices are being silenced who speak out. Most places on reddit would downvote this into oblivion, but this might be one of the few subreddits where truth can be told.

I'm actually embarrassed and enraged seeing so many political figures, influential people, and corporations supporting mobs and violence. They may keep saying "protesting" but it purposely ignores the real world consequences like the burning buildings and murders. I'm just glad that the majority of Americans are waking up to how full of shit all those things are. Most support the military stopping the rioting.

However, you know what the real kicker is? The entire reasoning for the protests and BLM is all bullshit. Black people are statistically less likely to be shot by the police. In fact, blacl cops are more likely to kill a black person than a white cop is. This based on the amount of interactions with police. In regards to general interracial violence, they also are 10x less likely to be killed by a white person but 10x more like TO kill a white person. It's a testimont to the years of propaganda and brainwashing by the media and education system that more people don't know this.

The rioting is necessary. I think Colin Kaepernick said it best:

"When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction".

It's the only way to get people to take things seriously. Peaceful protesting gets nothing done and if we're honest with ourselves we all know that. Politicians can ignore a peaceful protest, they can't ignore a riot.

In fact, pretty much all major reform stems from revolt against an authority, isn't that how America came to be?

I understand why black people in America want to smash shit up. Peaceful protesting would probably be more politically savvy, but I understand the inclination.

However, if you're going to riot, it should be a pure expression of anger at injustice. It shouldn't be a pretext for acquiring a flatscreen TV.
