I dropped out of University after 1 1/2 years as I wasn't learning anything and it was just a money sink.

I currently work as a design engineer using CAD software. I also practice welding on the shop floor when I feel like it.

If you can be disciplined with your job and money, you should be able to do very well. Minimalism and a spartan lifestyle are key.

I worked tons of different jobs and never got ahead even as management. Then I went back to school for mechanical engineering which I finished. I now have several high paying standing job offers but am back to school for electrical engineering simply because I want the knowledge. Totally worth going back.

Curious as to why people think college is shitty. If you study hard and go to a good college, you could be rich.

Dropped out for a grand oppurtunuty... i now own a manufacturing company with all male employees, only 5 of us at the moment, but trying to grow. I used to have a few women, in the office and on the shop floor. They all missed a ton of work for personal issues. Now it's all men and barely anyone ever misses work. If they have to take off early, they come in early, if they have to show up late, they work late. Sooo i got lucky, but that piece of paper goes a long ways either which way.
