from what i have seen, women hate to be told they are wrong. They take it personnal and are very vindicative about it. Especially in the workplace. But they love getting told they are right. So to be a sucessful therapist, you have to be on the woman side. Or get used to only see a woman for one session.

Won't work. She holds the purse strings, either directly or through nagging. If she doesn't like the therapist, you're going to another therapist.

Can confirm. Went to two sessions of free counseling provided after my deployment with the military.

She didn’t like what she was hearing. She felt the therapist was only blaming her. She wanted to change therapists. (Dude was right, she just didn’t want to hear it)

I brought home divorce papers the next day.

Best. Move. Ever.

She still thinks she can control me, but she can’t. Routinely throws fits when things don’t go her way, even still.

As someone who has been on the wrong end of this one, make sure one of the first things you ask in your first session is what the therapist is aiming to achieve with the sessions, what their main goal is. I got 3 sessions into 'couples counselling' before discovering it was no such thing. I guess that's what I get for agreeing to a female psychologist.
