At least in the USA that is the basis for the alliance between liberal Democrats, feminists, Communists, Muslims, homosexuals, transgenders, etc. They hate anything conservative, traditional, Christian and "white" so much that they are willing to bring in Muslims and cast a blind eye to anything they do as long as they support the DNC. That's why they support numerous black Representatives in Congress regardless of how bad their districts are or how much money is wasted there, such as the case of Elijah Cummings district in Baltimore. That's why they scream for more Women's rights but ignore female genital mutilation in the same breath. Truthfully they could kill a hundred girls or mutilate them all in the name of Islam and the DNC wouldn't care and they'd cover it up as long as they can get more votes and they vote for Democratic candidates. The same holds true for any voting bloc.

It is (despite what some muslims will say to defend it). And that's why it's absolutely retarded.

Not to mention that it's a religious display, so in a society where you don't have the right to have religious displays on you in public (a town actually faced quite a lot of problems for having a Christmas crib in a town hall even if christmas is hardly "religious" anymore) it goes against the very idea of laicity.

But feminists here still say that despite this and despite what it's supposed to mean about women, it's still okay because "it's the girl's choice" (yeah, nevermind the fact that they are literally brainwashed into this EXTREMELY early, what a "choice"). They'll side with anything that grant them oppression points, even things that go against women. That's feminism, particularly recent one, for you, they don't gaf about women's right (of course, this would be harder to defend than imaginary "oppressions").

It is, however, as I said, at this point christmas is more of a folklore thing than a religious one; how many people do you know that celebrate christmas religiously (and it's even worst in my country that isn't religious at all)? Not that I care about it being forbidden tbh, I dislike religion as a whole so whatever, it's just hilarious to see people still seeing this as a religious thing nowadays and therefore throwing a fit, and yet finding it normal to include halal food in public schools. Giant hypocrisy, not to mention that if any kind of hypocrisy COULD be SOMEHOW at least understandable as long as it's not forced it'd be in regard to the roots of the country, but instead it's the exact opposite. People are more shocked by a crib than by... pretty much anything else that isn't any better. I guess that's a nice leftover of some kind of "guilt" people have towards their own culture which is ridiculous; and when defending your own culture make you a nazi, good luck when it comes to reaching true equality or whatever else they promote...

But my point is rather the fact that the ones criticizing things like the burkini were seen as the "evil, extremists, xenophobic and conservative nazi" or whatever (can't really see an us equivalent) while the ones defending something that goes against laicity and that is unhygienic (one of the reason it's criticized is for the same reason men aren't allowed to wear bermuda shorts in pools) were seen the "good guys", which is very telling.

Yeah, because religion is "your choice" and therefore it should be tolerated, I've seen idiot feminists on MM basically saying that forcing them to do something against their beliefs (no burqa) is "torture" and oppressive, and the opposite side of the sult-shaming argument being used way too often to count. Funnily enough it seems that it's not oppression if it's a "choice"; no matter whether this choice is forced on you or not ( and don't ask me why this doesn't apply when it comes to everything else like women avoiding STEM on purpose, i'm pretty sure they don't know themselves, in this case stem is at fault and should be changed for them because "muh sexist shirts"). Basically, things like the burqa are only oppressive when they feel like it (if they want to shit on whatever thing that happened in an arab country that ended up on the news; that's the only time you'll see them caring about this), and otherwise it's not oppression, it's about the women having freedom of choice including the freedom of leaving. How it applies depends of what is the most useful atm and what's the best for getting victim points. Truly a joke.

Meanwhile, we have a former very serious convict that managed to escape the police for a very long time despite going outside by hiding in a burqa; which is theoretically forbidden for that very reason but is never applied for the reasons said above; muh culture/religion and tolerance. People questionned the matter for two days and then forgot about it, back to the usual double standards immediatly.

To quote a retarded pretty well-known feminist and (quote) "journalist, author, filmmaker, and activist for racial, gender and religious equality" (more honesly she's a full-blown retarded sjw complaining about things like bandaids being racists because even the transparent ones are too white, but she has an influence here over the youth, sadly enouh): "I don't see why showing your femininity by an hijab would be more sexist than wearing high heels or a miniskirt. I'm travelling a lot, and I see that it's not women's first problem."

Literally no difference between high heels or the hijab and it doesn't have a meaning at all and is never forced onto women outside of arab countries so it's fine. That's feminism for you. It's not about equality, it's about victim points in order to guilt-trip the evil cis white male [etc] into giving you everything you need without having to make the proper efforts. Using the hijab or the burqa is just one way to do this among many others, it could be anything as long as it paints them as the victim (just like stopping them from wearing their burqa is oppressing them). It's sad to see that this is what "activism" is nowadays.
