Ok I'm officially fearing for a bit of my sanity. I'm 35, and this is my first Christmas Mgtow after a getting divorced after 6 years mid 2018...

Anyways, this party is basically a get-together of many people who I grew up with who all paired off and they all brought their kids. Many have multiple kids. The kids own their lives. Nealy all conversation topics are related to the kids and/or the wife/household type things. There were over 12 kids! Gift unwrapping was a zoo! I've never felt so out of place in my life, but what really surprised me was the sensation of "I don't belong here - I'm a failure, I didn't make it. ". I'm the only one that was there that was single, and I felt like I had nothing to talk about with these people.

Being MGTOW for the rest of the year is great. I love my life of leisure, quiet, hobbies, riches, and interests... Yet when I'm at a function like the one I just attended, it's like I'm reminded that I'm a "SOCIAL" failure. I didn't shack up and start a family and buy a house. That I didn't fight hard enough to keep my marriage and etc... And the thing is... I think I would fit in more socially more if I had a date, or if I had stories of dating and etc becuase my married friends would find that "interesting" and be like, "Oh you'll find her eventually..."! But I don't cuz I'm MGTOW. And at the same time I can't tell people I'm MGTOW.

So instead I have to bullshit and talk about how I'm still hurting from the divorce and I'm not ready to date so I'm not looking and etc... I play this part well, but now it's like I'm an imposter to the third degree... And I just feel absolutely rotten.

Makes me feel like I should call my ex up and be like.. Yo it wasn't so bad..

Those are the emotions... Obviously logically I know that's messed up, but wow! It's a strong pull. Coping with this is hard!

I enjoy and love my life of freedom and peace, and lack of bullshit, yet it's also very difficult in a social climate where everyone is paired off and with kids where I'm the only one MGTOW..

We often talk about the benefits of being MGTOW, but it's also a sometimes a social struggle. And it would be nice to share relatable stories IMO for those of us experiencing something similar..

Feels like a struggle right now..I know it'll pass, but if anyone else is experiencing something similar do please share. The knowledge that I' not the only one going through this will help with my sanity while these feelings pass. Nothing like social/peer pressure to bring me down it seems.
