Tbh, this was always going to happen. The bigger a platform gets, the more money it takes to compete.

Eventually it becomes impossible for the average Joe to get involved in at all, with the only people etting anywhere most greedy businessmen and the few remaining from the "good old days.".

Eventually, even the few remaining will be kicked off the platform, with big companies being the only people with enough to get involved.

Remember gaming in the PS3/360/Wii generation? How many big games we're being released each year compared to now? Same thing.

Same thing with everything else too. A writer cannot create something like Lord of the rings or Harry Potter anymore.

Nor can a director create something like star wars or Mickey Mouse.

Exceptions exist, but people just cling to hard to what they know already works. So they never give the little guys any attention...even if they do end up making the next Lord of the rings.
