I met a friend I played with for 2-4 years I dont really remember then we knew each other for next 10 years playing probably all online games available lol then I moved to another country. After 4 years abroad its like he forgot about me so I think besides AWALT there is also AMALT and I dont believe in true lifelong friendships unless you live in the same area/country.

Some random dude stops me from mauling a mouthy idiot (who I assume to be his friend) at a university by reminding me everything I'd be throwing away if I get in a fight on campus. Hate him by association, but his logic is sound so I let his friend off with a polite promise of future dismemberment if he fucks with me again.

About 3 months later, I see 'Mediator' at a coffee house with an old friend.
Old Friend: "Hey 'II', do you know 'Mediator'? Oh yeah, I forgot you guys have been playing <MMORPG> together for the last year..."

That was nearly 20 years ago and we're best friends. He is a friend in deed. EX LTRs have gotten jealous of our friendship (because hamster), and his Wife jokingly refers to the two of us as each others' 'Soulmates'. I don't have a biological brother, but I love this other man as if he was.

I met my first girlfriend in college. She was a member of the student government, on the softball team, and a resident advisor (pseudo-authoritative position where she could “write people up”.) I was more introverted and hung out with a group of all male friends, all we did was get stoned and play video games and watch horror movies. She disliked them for no real reason and constantly gave me shit for hanging out with them for like an hour or two. Me being young and not thinking much before I spoke, said “well at least it’s all guys, your group is way bigger and it’s got just as many guys as girls.” Well you can imagine what happened then, and I would liken it to a sort of verbal h-bomb.
