This happened to me and I know others and realized there is a pattern: Here goes: Wife gets complacent after years of marriage the a guy and decides to divorce convinced there is someone better and looks forward to playing with all of those new dating tools that weren't there a while back.

At first, the attention is intoxicating and she finds some attractive guys but can't get one to do more than a pump and dump. She then changes the strategy and goes more for the quality of man then the looks. She starts dating only to find out at some point parts or all of his profile were bullshit. After a couple of fails like this the desperation starts to kick in as she needs the security of a husband, especially since she left the last one and the family "I told you so's" are getting louder.

At this point, she's willing to settle for the first stable guy the will have her.

Here's the irony, this new guy is almost always a step down in appearance and status from the husband they dumped.

Exactly what happened to me. Wife divorced, got pump and dumped, casual dates etc.. for two years before getting married to an overweight school janitor (not judging) meanwhile I've got a career making six figures and dating a 19 year old (I was 29 at the time).
