Hypergamy is when they use men for resources and drain/discard them in the process.

Women with better personalities are perceived to be better looking. This is assuming that she isn't the size of a fridge etc. This can be easily measured with bargirls and the amount of lady drinks they are bought. The personable one will always get more lady drinks then the better looking one.

With men, it probably works the same way also.

So the graph should really be about perceived attractiveness and relative social status. Would Marissa Mayer be just as attractive to you if she were a network administrator working at Yahoo instead of the CEO? What do women think about Larry Page, Phil Knight, and Michael Dell? I am not saying none of these people are attractive, just questioning what the response would typically be.

It is possible that wealthy people tend to carry themselves better, be more assertive, and have more self confidence which could all factor into perceived attractiveness.

This is why I laugh whenever guys talk about women being attracted to confidence / humor / etc.

Women are incredibly shallow and visual creatures. They do not care about personality, only about how a face looks. Based on the face, they judge men as either confident or creepy, but that has nothing to do with reality.

As a female comedian said "you can't get raped by a hot guy."

What a lovely linear regression, you can tell the chart was made by a beta male or woman because they had hope in humanity that their "personality" would make them more attractive.

That's why they made the personality on the Y axis a dependent variable while looks on the x axis as an independent variable.

What it does is it gets to the foundations of human attraction and how baloney like personality is as dumb as preferring vagina over cock.

The vast majority of human attraction is taught. Just not in the way we think. It's a somewhat complicated alchemical process of cues > gratification level > priorities. If we never fuck ugly women we'll never know it can be any good. Versus fucking beautiful women and reinforcing our own programming that beautiful women are all that works.

Summarized this means an average to below average poor man has no shot with a woman he's been raised to desire all his life. Just the same way an ugly woman has no shot at any man who isn't intoxicated. Ugly is actually abnormal / not the mainstream view of what beauty is. People won't eat bugs and they won't fuck ugly people if they can help it because they're raised in those parameters.

Nature has always been about "looks". Your "personality" wasn't going to translate into DNA-building disease resistance or put dinner on the table.
