Said no to all holidays invites but the big family one the 25th, told everyone to their faces that I was going to put on pyjamas and play videogames till the 4th of January... funny too see the jealousy on my married buddies faces... they, it turns out, have everything planned out for them... lol...by their SO's!

I hear you.

I went over to a family friend's house for dinner on Christmas Eve for five hours of conversation that had maybe 10 minutes of personal value. I couldn't relate to the neighborhood gossip, lawn maintenance, house renovations, etc.

Couldn't wait to get back home and chill with a couple books I'm currently reading.

I like to do nothing to but it essential to work on yourself every day and have some goals. Every small step counts. Whether it is saving money or investing it. Or work on health, study etc it all matters

I don't think doing nothing is the right way to do. You know how self-improvement books about a list of things to do to be happier. Doing the opposite will make you depressed. So not being productive will make you lazier and depressed.
