Been thinking of doing the same, working on paying off the debt I have left then I want to save up and either get a tiny home or a RV, leaning toward a tiny home as they seem to last longer if made well. Got the dog, got rid of the wife (which is why I have debt).

If you're not very claustrophobic, perhaps a stealth camper van would be a better solution. You can convert a cargo van yourself with much less money, you can then park almost anywhere and blend in.

As a 23 year old commercial vehicle driver I would highly recommend looking into getting your CDL, and buying a Tractor/Trailer combo. They make living quarters that hook up to your big rig's 5th wheel, or you can go the sleeper route if you don't need much living space.

Owner-operators make a fuck ton. You can easily gross 100K a year without doing the long hauls. Find a nice park that lets you drop your camping trailer. Pick up your loads from dispatch and have a nice day.

I'd prefer a camper in a truck, or a van, because you can drive 'em anywhere and park 'em anywhere.

Pull-behinds are a pain in the ass, and the expenses of offsetting that add up fast, to the point where you may not be saving all that much.

Bigger isn't better. Size is a liability. Stay light and mobile.

I want to get some cheap land near wilderness, and build an off grid small house setup. Perhaps some additional cabins to rent out or let friends stay in. Then build a greenhouse & small farming setup. And perhaps still work remotely. but do plenty of fishing & hunting.

First thing I did with my 5th wheel is put new tires on it. Sailun S637 trailer tires. 14 ply. Held up good the past year and it weighs under 11k pounds empty. A blow out will seriously fuck your day up. Trailer tires are notorious for wearing out from the inside. Also have your brakes checked and repack the bearings. Good luck.
