Ive never posted in here before but I do lurk this sub.

A few days ago, I mustered up the strength to leave a three year abusive relationship with a psychopathic womanchild. I havent felt bad since. I feel free. She pulled her classic shit over having a manipulation meltdown when I told her no (in this case she wanted me to stay on the phone with her for a cigarette and I wanted to play guitar and go to bed.)

Doing this has significantly raised my self esteem. She has been living with her parents for the last couple weeks because she was causing a lot of problems at the house with me and our roommate, so it made it that much easier. I dont wake up with severe panic attacks anymore. My environment is clean, calm, and orderly now. As opposed to living chaotic squalor with someone who cant even be bothered to get out of bed and do laundry or make dinner. I did it over text for an extra kick in the nuts, and I ripped into her for about two hours.

I feel liberated not only as a man but as a person in general. No longer will I have the life and happiness sucked out of me by a harpie.

This sub has been a comfort to me, and the articles on the sidebar are what helped me make my decision. Thanks boys.

EDIT- some people asked what was going on to add some context. heres a list.

She has borderline personality disorder and Bipolar 1. Does not take care of herself very well, and by proxy it causes a lot of issues. There was a lot of selfishness going on, and when the selfishness was questioned (selfishness here meaning me being pressured to spend money on her when she didnt have any and could have saved her own) it turned into manipulation, berating, guilt tripping, etc.

I was constantly told the things I like didnt fit her aesthetic and that they were tacky, and if we ever had a house I would have to stuff it all in a man cave

Any time she lost control of a conversation, it would immediately go to her saying she didnt deserve to live so it could turn from talking about an issue to consoling her.

She once almost hit me in the face during an argument.

She once attempted suicide because I wasnt giving her enough attention, then she got mad when she was sent to a psych ward.

I had a manic episode earlier this year and I had severe spending impulses, and instead of getting me to stop because I clearly wasnt in control of myself, she kept taking me to stores in the mall.
