Lol. I really didn't mean to. Like start anything. Wasn't the intent. Only meant to express a thought. But, think you're right, best find another way next time!

Don't be stupid guys. The bibble is the best thing that can happen to you, especially if you are celibate.
[–]DitchTheFap[S] 11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
The bibble? Ahaha I get ya, only those still wearing a bibb still take the Bible seriously. I don't need some ancient book of dubious origin to have a moral center or smack down urges or impulses I know would be unhealthy for me in the long run.

Amen.
[–]Dumaul4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]NoCharism0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Ehe bible is alot more, than just following some rules.
The real theme of the bible is how to get eternal life. You are saved by grace trough faith.
This world is going to pass away and God is going to create a new earth and we will get new bodies (this body is like a tent and the new body is going to be like a house) and the bible even says, that God will create things for his people, nobody has even heard, or thought of.
Ive been an atheist for the majority of my life, until i saw and experienced things that are not from this world. And i can tell you who the real God is, because i received the holy spirit.
This world is nothing compared to whats to come and its going to end soon.

[–]DitchTheFap[S] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
I feel like that evidence "historical Jesus" ever walked the earth is exceptionally thin on the ground, so this is a meme that makes a point using a fable for reference.
[–]lllDUNN3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
But there's more historical evidence for Jesus than any other person who's ever lived.
[–]DitchTheFap[S] -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
No. There's really not. Nothing in the period Roman literature of the times, or the greccan, nothing out of the middle east.
Only a compilation of stories in a singular book that was born from as many as 24 different authors over an 800 year time span.
By a religious organisation proven to be untrustworthy, helped along by a Roman emperor who felt christianity might prove a very useful tool of social control.
[–]dravenaus2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Wrong, even people who didn't believe in Jesus didn't doubt his existence.
[–]lllDUNN0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
No credible historian or scholar denies that Jesus existed and walked this Earth. The Bible is composed of 66 books by 40 different writers over 1,500 years, yet it has one consistent storyline running all the way through, and it has just one ultimate author — God. There are more written texts about Jesus than there are about any other human being. You cannot discount the bible as a historical document. Well the books of it. There are extra biblical accounts of his life. The bible itself was obviously not the bible.
The first step in assembling the Bible involves the 39 books of the Old Testament, also referred to as the Hebrew Bible. Beginning with Moses, who wrote the first five books of the Bible, these books were written over the centuries by prophets and leaders. By the time of Jesus and his disciples, the Hebrew Bible had already been established as 39 books. This was what Jesus meant when he referred to "the Scriptures."
After the early church was established, people such as Matthew started writing historical records of Jesus' life and ministry, which became known as the Gospels. Church leaders such as Paul and Peter wanted to provide direction for the churches they established, so they wrote letters that were circulated throughout congregations in different regions. We call these the Epistles.
A century after the launch of the church, hundreds of letters and books explained who Jesus was and what he did and how to live as his follower. It became clear that some of these writings weren't authentic. Church members began to ask which books should be followed and which ignored.
Eventually, Christian church leaders worldwide gathered to answer major questions, including which books should be regarded as "Scripture." These gatherings included the Council of Nicea in A.D. 325 and the First Council of Constantinople in A.D. 381, which decided a book should be included in the Bible if it was:
Written by one of Jesus' disciples, someone who was a witness to Jesus' ministry, such as Peter, or someone who interviewed witnesses, such as Luke.
Written in the first century A.D., meaning that books written long after the events of Jesus' life and the first decades of the church weren't included. This was after St. Jerome created the Vulgate in AD 400.
Josephus is one of the main extra biblical persons to mention the ministry of Jesus.

Further...every respected secular historical academic denies it, many of which, actually call it a fable.
Good luck though.
[–]lllDUNN1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Oh everyone of them do? Can you give me a list of every respected historian, and where they say they deny it? Like every single one would be totes cool brah. Lol goodness, you hear yourself? Who determines which historian is respected? Do you have that list?

It's not a head issue for the non-believers, its a heart issue.
Romans 1:20-22
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

I'm sorry, I can't share your brainwashing, I did my tertiary study in history at a secular university.
And genuine academics and scientists do deny it, the whole roman empire denied it, because no roman historian ever mentioned him save once which was later proven definitively to be a forgery manufactured long after that the historian in question had died.
I don't care what you believe, you shouldn't care what I believe.
You're strong in your faith, and you need to believe what you will, but don't expect other people to accept the line you have.

Matthew 1:20
[–]redditrat993 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I don't know. By most accounts Mary was 12-14 years old. While it is possible that she was promiscuous at that age, I think it more possible that she was raped by one (or three) men. Joseph, who, by some accounts, was around 90 (probably around 40) years old saw this little girl that got pregnant, decided to mary her since she would have been ostracized by her community, and then came the story of Joshua (look it up, his name was Joshua, not Jesus) being divine and the rest is history (and religion).
[–]lllDUNN1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There’s a significant amount of good that came from religion. Keep in mind this is before government and technology.
I see religion as a stepping stone. Do you take its words literally ? No.
Figuratively? For me yes. I cannot speak for anyone else.

[–]PrismMage 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. This is the only time in history where a woman got pregnant, the child was not the husband’s, and it was NOT adultery. Mary was not without sin, but Jesus WAS NOT conceived via adultery. The idea that Jesus is a bastard is a lie started by and perpetuated by Jewish fables specifically the Talmud.

No mention of the fact that the Biblically defined roles for men and women PREVENTED the entire society-wide shitshow we're living in, of course...
[–]Magnar960 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Are they really biblically defined though? I mean roles for men and women have been naturally carved out through all human history up until civilization, I mean something akin to feminism helped destroy the Roman empire.
[–]Elkubik0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Asia managed to figure out gender roles before Christianity showed up. If you think about it, gender roles were figured out at about the same time we figured out how to poke animals with sharp sticks.
[–]lllDUNN0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Well since biblical accounts predate anything, yes they are biblically defined.
[–]Magnar961 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
No they don't.
[–]lllDUNN0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
How so?
[–]Magnar961 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Because there is recorded history from before biblical times.
[–]lllDUNN-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That all depends on what you believe. In my view the Israelites are the oldest group of people that has existed. The Hebrew people far out date any other group
[–]Magnar96-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It has nothing to do with belief, you're just ignoring evidence of ancient civilizations.
[–]FaustoLG-2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I disagree, Joseph was the father, is just that some ASSHOLE(Mathew) made an ASS PULL and the acolytes stuck with that BULLSHIT.
Just read the Hebrew Law and you'll see that in no way you can explain such bullshit, unless someone did an ass pull.
Obviously ther wasn't a Virgin birth, that was copied from other Gods(Horus...).
But according to the Hebrew law:
Religion has a lot of BULLSHIT that can be explained in more simple ways...
PS: The people called him Rabi, because he was indeed a Rabi... You won't hear that from Christians.
[–]MrMagtow-4 points-3 points-2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Also, she wasn't cheating with just one man - she was cheating on Joseph with 3 other men.
Why do you think the "3 wise men" showed up with gifts? Like some random dude is going to spend his money on a gift if he doesn't think the kid is his?
How did the 3 of them know she was giving birth in the manger? Cos they all thought the kid was theirs and stayed in touch over Face..er ...JerusalemBook.

[–]Dumaul0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You can hold whatever you want, is your way. And that's the point, "we" don't care what other people think of "us" mgtow can have the worst reputation possible because the "members" are going their own ways, and don't care about online groups.
