Hello gents.

What are everyone's long term goals here, financially speaking? I'm planning on making an attempt to save enough to be able to retire early and effectively bail out of normal society and live frugally, maybe in a van or a small cheap flat, I'd be interested to hear from anyone that's achieved this, how you managed it and how you find it.

I've been doing a bit of soul searching recently and i've realised that as i want to stay single there's no use in passing money on when I die, so i want to aim to reach retirement age or slightly after with basically no money left and exchange comfortable retired living for a couple of decades of my adult life. The way I see it - society punishes frugality and living within your means and those who live beyond their means get rewarded by the state by getting looked after. So I want no assets in old age and the state to fund any care etc. And as far as contributing to society goes - I'd rather not. IMO the way society has developed to treat men, society doesn't deserve our work and we're doing the right thing by withdrawing that work.

Any thoughts?
