Tell them you are in a relationship with an old girlfriend who lives across the country so you don't see her much but are still faithful.

Added plus of this is that they will all tell you that she is cheating on you because that is what girls do when the guy isn't around......Really, you will see if you try this.

They are so fucking focused on getting you, they will tell you exactly how THEY really are....unfailthful, cheaters, liars, etc.....

I've been through the wringer at work with a younger woman who has a crush on me. I made the mistake of avoiding her completely, and she utterly flipped out. She's accused me of all kinds of bad behavior. Fortunately her lies were pretty bad (I wasn't even in the office during several of these lies.)

There are dozens of logical reasons why dating her would be pointless and romance would be disastrous at best. But...FEELINGS. She's very post wall, cat lady, a tub of lard and an alcoholic. And a know-it-all. Yeah, I passed on a great one! /s

My best suggestions: 1. Get off Facebook. You won't miss it. Or make a family only account if you must. 2. Stick strictly to work specific topics, the more boring the better. (For example, "how is your weekend?" "Well, I thought about the such-and-such work topic and blah blah..." 3. Whine. Not a lot, but definitely about being broke all the time.

You really have to assume the worst case scenario with a female coworker. They couldn't care if you live or die as long as it keeps their mood elevated.

The other day we hired a new girl. I told my boss in no uncertain terms that I refused to train her because she was female. Tough shit for companies who treat men like shit. Not like it matters, the only thing women seem trained on is texting and Facebook anyway.

You don't need to say anything. Try to ignore her as much as possible - and if she is in your face just tell her you're very busy and cannot talk at the moment (make sure you have a reason thought up before you tell her obviously). Have reasons planned ahead of time. If she ever tries to get your attention just always tell her you're very busy and can't talk right now - don't respond to her online messaging / attempt contacts. You're basically doing a light level ghost. She will eventually get the clue that you're not interested. Continue to be professional - don't ever be mean or get her angry or that could end up costing your job. Just act completely oblivious along with what I suggested above. That and being unattractive (what has been mentioned below) can also help. If she does not know that much about where you live or about your personal life - tell her things like how you LOVE being able to still live with your parents - and how you LOVE playing World of Warcraft as much as you possibly can. Shit like that will turn her off real quick. I would not lie about being in a relationship since she MAY have already scoped out your Facebook profile. You CAN set your status to "in a relationship" - but you would need a profile that can verify that - so YOU CAN make a completely fake facebook account and post some pictures of a girl (like a hooker in your local area). Don't bring up the relationship thing unless she asks about it - and tell her you just recently met her through your friends.

Honestly, silence is probably your best bet. You don't have to explain why. you don't have to give them any answer that isn't work related.

I used to work in the back of a cafe with 4 to 6 women popping in an out of the front as we did our jobs. Most didn't flirt, as I am not that attractive a guy (unless they wanted something from me), but some of the older single moms of the bunch would, on occasion. When they would fish for compliments or try to flirt I would not say a thing and just concentrate on my work. I was there for almost 3 years without incident before moving onto a better job.

It was amusing listening to their tone of voice get frustrated as I am otherwise friendly and open, sometimes even chatty, but become a mute when they start with that stuff.

If they try call you cold or uncaring and they wont let you get away without an answer just say something like "That conversation/line of questioning bordered on flirting and I consider it an inappropriate workplace topic."
