A recent study found that 43 percent of millennials supported a form of marriage that allowed couples to easily split up after two years, while a full third were open to “marriage licenses” valid — like mortgages — for set periods of time.

Ironically... that last bit -- putting a specific TIME-LIMIT on it -- could be a GOOD thing, at least for men.

Why? Because "marriage" has already essentially been GUTTED by the legal and court system -- this would actually help rebalance that (at least a bit) -- because if nothing else, it would at the very least re-establish that marriage is in fact a CONTRACTUAL thing.

And THAT might begin the process of forcing the courts into realizing that "Marriage 2.0" -- as judges & lawyers have clusterfucked it -- is in fact an "unconscionable contract"; to wit:

An unconscionable contract is one that is so one-sided that it is unfair to one party and therefore unenforceable under law. It is a type of contract that leaves one party with no real, meaningful choice, usually due to major differences in bargaining power between the parties. (Sauce)

And one could add in other aspects as well. If some "marriage" is pre-agreed upon to only last say 5 years -- then that rather DRAMATICALLY alters the way it is going to be viewed in OTHER LEGAL contractual terms & senses... the "unconscionability" for example of a wife keeping a home in exchange for such a short period of "service" becomes rather blatantly obvious to everyone; not the least of all BANKS and other 3rd parties.

So much for "Til Death do us Part". More like "Til Money do me part" due to freakin' divorces. Why is this a thing? Marriage was supposed to be a lifetime commitment.

Sounds like my ex-wife to a t. I hate that Girls show so much. Terrible writing, awful characters - I thought it was a satire where you laugh at them, but no - it's for real. You want a window into what's wrong with a lot of people out there - watch that fucking show. God help us if young women are "inspired" by that pile of shit.

This is all part of saving the divorce gravy train for lawyers and the legal system. They know if they don't start repackaging marriage into more trendy and hip for the millennials, there will be no marriage at all for them to sponge off of.
