Buy what you want. Do not be influenced by the opinions of others.

Especially female bosses.
Nexus of insecurity that they are.

What the fuck does your boss care? My boss once told be he prefers me going into debt. Says I'm less likely to quit

Dads with a family to support are the best workers.

She wants op to buy a family car. Then he's there for good!

Which is why we never discuss personal stuff at work - best that they just assume, and don't know.

It feels good to make a major purchase that you are secure in.

I hope that it is something that is a blast to drive while staying within the speed limit. That is a bonus.

Everyone will know it is you driving your car. The big grin will give it away.

Nice one! I made the decision to buy a Tacoma. Access cab with the 6ft bed, not the 4 door. I don't have a family to worry about ;)

Enjoy it brother! I've had mine for almost a year, no regrets. Every drive is a dream in there (especially in the twisties).

Props. Currently looking at 2-seat roadsters myself. The thought of not having a back seat for extraneous shit (like a car seat) makes me so happy inside.
"This car belongs to a man who is not marriage material!" the car will seem to scream, as I cruise past salty honeys and dead-eyed husbands. Profane hip hop will emanate from the speakers, with references to bitches and hoes aplenty. Somewhere down the line I may have to find a dog to be my co-pilot.
You're right: life IS good.

The Toyota GT-86? It's a pretty nice car, but it's not going to handle the way you want it at first.
Throw a nice set of wheels and tires, and it'll be much better.
Careful, though. Once you buy these cars, you'll be spending 4K a year on mods plus whatever you do to maintain it.
And for the love of RaptorJesus, buy a manual. Haha!

i would get a used 370z first
[–]shadow1118 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
its same reliability as frs , speed is important , but i love the looks of the frs so tough call tbh

Every man should go his own way and do exactly what he feels, but at the same time I have a strong suspicion of any man who feels he can get internal gratification from kinds of consumerism such as this
[–]fuckhillaryinthebutt 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I would have to see the entire financial situation to make a judgement. 24 year old kid with $0 net worth taking a loan out for the car, bad idea. 35 year old with at least $200k net worth and no debts and 6 months emergency fund, OK.

I'm happy that you have been successful, and you have every right to enjoy it. I just believe in a minimalist lifestyle. And its not just me, there's real wisdom and science backing the fact that even if you do get some internal pleasure from something like a car, it will inevitably dissipate and you'll be left to face yourself once again. Maybe I am being too philosophical haha... but that's the way I see it. Regardless, you are a free man because of MGTOW and can do whatever the fuck you want. That's the real beauty of it

I've been thinking hard about a 370Z lately, basically a baby porshe with japanese reliability, that fiat spider also seems up my alley. So many awesome cars, so little time...
[–]myotheraccountisa9110 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No. The Miata is a half scale Jag F Type with the layout of a Viper.
Why mess with that ? Why make it ugly like the fiata?
[–]JohnWicksPencil1 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I prefer the fiat styling and the fiat motor. Not a fan of the new Miata front end.

I haven't owned a car with more than two seats since like over a decade ago. #childfreefeels lol

Sweet! Sounds like you're buying it out right, how much? About 3 months ago I went and got a loan out for a 14 Dodge Avenger, I've been very happy with my car and for some reason don't have any regrets when I make my payments. Sheila has treated me better than any woman ever could, plus she's got a nice ass.
[–]301niko0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How about a sexy supra or 370z?
[–]SteamKEYUPMYASS 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I just got myself a 2016 Prius (mpg and resell value) but I rent out some track day cars. Never heard about the 86. Is it special to you in some way? Is it a cheap but fun car? I like my 911s the most.
[–]BloodyNightWing0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nice! I wanted this car too but would not afford payments. I'm getting a 2013 frs soon. Not a Toyota 86 but it's half as cheap.
Let's see which women switch up from ignoring me to seeing my new car...

I told her I don't have to worry about being practical.
She now has the ammo she needs to get you fired because you make too much money.

Solid all rounder for the price. Good choice
