It's the norm in China for the husband to hand over his paycheck to his wife. I've been in and out of China for over 10 years.
Chinese traditional culture is basically designed to enslave men, it's the norm for the husband to hand over his paycheck to his wife and then she gives him a tiny allowance.
All my married Chinese friends are unhappy and in loveless relationships, their wives are control freaks and their in-laws always push them to work like dogs.
Chinese men need to reject traditional Chinese cultures and go their own way.
