Bukowski needs to be mandatory reading for MGTOW.

Died at 74. Keith Richards is 74, looks like a pirate and still plays rnb.

It’s funny that if you were to post this anywhere else on Reddit, you’d be hit with the generic comments that consist of “you’re either sexually frustrated or very young. Don’t worry, you’ll grow out of it” or “are you gay? Only gay guys don’t like girls”
[–]Baldrbaldr80 points81 points82 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
or "who hurt you so bad ..."
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Easy one : all women did
[–][deleted] 38 points39 points40 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So true... I was actually fairly knowledgeable about women until i discovered Reddit and it's bullshit advice... my relations with women got less and less satisfying even as everyone on reddit kept saying "be honest and open with your significant other" and all their other bullshit advice. Man what a load of crap... then i obviously stumbled upon the manosphere and I had plenty of life experience to back up just about all the claims made in the manosphere... god that was depressing but i just couldn't deny the truth in what I read.
Same here. When I followed Reddit's generic dating advice, I too did worse with women. I then learned my old ways were better.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
funny because i grew into it. mgtow wasn't a choice for me, it was a reality force fed to me like some prisoner on a hunger strike. enough life experience and we all know the truth.

They used to be by and for young men. Now they're by SJWs, for an ever dwindling reader base of the same. Even SJWs don't find their tripe entertaining.

The problem with men these days is that they believe that women/theres a woman out there that can love them unconditionally. Not only that, all men in common also have this belief that they're the so called 'hero' of their life that gets the girl in end but in reality... real life is NOTHING like Hollywood movies/television/love stories. Most men constantly live in cognitive dissonance and delusions.
[–]SohithKumar3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Any explanation on cognitive dissonances and delusions you are talking about?
[–]TheOldEskimo8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
I didn't write the original comment you're referring to, but I think cognitive dissonance, confirmation bias, delusion -- the whole nine yards of it -- when you start looking closely, people are tend to believe the things that are best for their own interests and happiness.
For example, I'm not religious myself, but whether belief in a higher power is real or false, there's not much doubt it meets clear needs for people.
They have someone to love who loves them and who will set everything right in the end. They deal with the fear of death. They have a community they're unlikely to be alienated from that they share values with. They have a path to follow for how one should live, etc.
When women hamster wheel it's the same.
"It's rape because I regret it" is because they're avoiding responsibility and playing the victim because it better suits their individual interests for example. They can also pass it off to a future partner as a hardship they had to overcome instead of another unfavorable addition to their already swollen notch count of sexual partners -- something men tend not to like.
Another could be how when a man dumps them they rationalize it and literally imagine he beat and raped them so they can justify to themselves the breakup being a good thing and not a loss. The goal being to not feel bad of course no matter what happens.
People are very good at convincing themselves of whatever they already decided they want to believe.
Sort of why when I used to smoke I'd Google "Smoking's not THAT bad for you is it?" Instead of Googling actually stats and seeking out medical advice from professionals, I listened to hearsay and specifically looked for the answers I wanted because I loved smoking and it fit my bias.
[–]SohithKumar4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Wow... thank you for your good explanation. I truly believe everyone does everything for their own selfish reasons. I too realised that even I do things you mentioned. I always criticised people why they put on makeup, fuss about clothes, believe in god, don’t use condoms etc. Well, I think people do things that suit them and their situations and have to change their beliefs accordingly. In the mind whether it works or not is all that matters; not whether it is right or wrong.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm selfish as fuck... but I have no intents to hide this fact.
[–]SohithKumar1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheOldEskimo1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
most men people constantly live in cognitive dissonance and delusions.
FTFY
Women are even worse than men in that regard. Men are more or less forced to grasp at least certain harsh truths. At the very least we have far harder lives on average to help push us closer to reality.
Women live so far from real life I can't even understand how they believe the things they say they do. When you try asking they can't substantiate any of their hamster wheeled bullocks yet they still convince themselves. Baffling.

The crowd thing is kinda true. Just get a group of her girlfriends together with her at any point during your relationship and it's as if the topic of the day is "nitpicking every single possible problem with X's boyfriend". Unless the boyfriend is being marginalized, then it's "you go girl" until they get bored.

For a man who denounced women he sure was obsessed with them. He just ran from relationship to relationship his entire life.
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yes. His knowledge comes from plentiful life experience like most of us here.
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah but he never went his own way. He dedicated his entire life to women. Even wrote a book titled "Women". I understand that this sub is kind of an echo chamber so anyone going off message is downvoted to hell, but based on Bukowskis life he's not the greatest mascot for MGTOW.
[–]undbitr9564 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It doesn't matter when you go MGTOW, it matters that you do, maybe u go at 18 or 30, it's the same. Share what u learn ( like he did) and move on
[+]B_Yanarchy-13 points-12 points-11 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
oh i guess r/incels is finally back
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Guess again.
The vast majority of MGTOW are older men with a wealth of experience with women.
Exactly fuckin right.
So silly to see dumb shit like this fucker insulting us.
They're attacking us because they know we're right deep down inside, but they can't let themselves accept it due to cognitive dissonance, and because they've built up their identity around SJW-- SJW is their identity.
To lose their SJW-identity-orientation is to lose their self-identity, and have to face the fact that they've been wrong this entire time.
