Alimony is to offset wages a woman fails to earn or be able to earn because she's spent her life raising the couples kids instead of focusing on a career. There's no way an even half decent lawyer would get you stuck paying it after only five years. Did you even have any children? Where do you live? There's no way I'd be paying a woman ANYTHING under those circumstances.

Well im 35 never married with no kids and plan to keep it that way. I learned from my uncles growing up. All of them were players, good looking guys having multiple relationships with different women. One of them got raked over the coals in two divorces. He warned me to date as many women as I could but never get married. Best advice I ever got.

5 years of marriage does not equal half your retirement. Only half of what you put in and what it earned during the 5 years of marriage. Unless you just signed what ever an attorney handed you during mediation.

I was conditioned to believe marriage was the natural progression of my life. Meet a girl, get married, have kids and grow old together. It’s all a joke. There is no such thing as true love. A woman’s love is conditional on what you are doing for them at the time. At some point they will decide you aren’t useful to them anymore. Or they will meet someone else and be convinced life will be better with that person.
